Frustratingly a job I was really excited about has fallen through due to a lawyer screwing up. So, I'm still looking for a new role. I'd really love to find something in the music industry, but open to anything! xitter.cf/jonty/status/186723155…

So I've been notified that my role is at risk. Would anybody like to hire a me. I've spent the last 7 years as chief software architect, which realistically meant doing every job from infrastructure to product. I am interested in everything, and curious to try new things.

I've created a basic app for searching an aerial photo using text queries. That's right, you can search for "roundabout" or "school playground" and get pretty good results! Have a play with it here: server1.rtwilson.com/aerial #geospatial #ai #ml #gis #aerial #python

Just received a postcard from myself via @emfcamp post, sent at @MCH2022Camp last year. I have no memory of sending this. Anyway, thanks past me.
A photograph of a postcard, addressed to "HQ, EMF 2024". It reads "Hello from the past! Hope everything is going well. Don't panic. Jonty"

Exactly 12 years ago I made a terrible mistake
Electromagnetic Field@emfcamp13 May 2024
Exactly 12 years ago we announced the first Electromagnetic Field
A screenshot of a blog post, it reads: Announcing Electromagnetic Field 2012 May 13, 2012 After just a few years of rapid growth there now are dozens of hackerspaces and makerspaces in the UK, with thousands of members. In addition there are countless other communities of craftsmen, artists, designers, engineers who are interested in the same DIY ethic, who are inquisitive, and keen to make things. This year we want to bring everyone together for a large UK-wide camping festival, held in a field near Milton Keynes from 31 August to 2 September. The event is organised by a non-profit organisation and produced entirely by volunteers. We are members of well-known hackerspaces and other organisations. We hope that you will join us, and invite you to help us turn it into something special! More details will follow very soon. For more details and to register your interest go to emfcamp.org. And follow us on Twitter at @emfcamp.

We urgently need sponsors - if we do not secure more, we will have to make tough decisions. Tickets cover base costs, but sponsors pay for lovely things like our free childcare and talk transcription. Every little helps! Find out more here: emfcamp.org/sponsor

Sponsor Electromagnetic Field

Electromagnetic Field is the UK's largest camping festival for people interested in technology, science, and arts. We're looking for sponsors to help us make this year our best event yet.

Every single year before we open the @emfcamp Call for Participation I am exhausted and questioning why I do this. Then you all submit things and all the things are amazing and I want to see all the things and there are SO MANY THINGS. And I remember exactly why I do this.

Hello! It's me again: Your yearly reminder that drives fail, SSDs bitrot, and you probably need to do a review of your backup strategy. This message brought to you by a second drive in my ZFS array failing while the first one was still rebuilding. Happy holidays.

If anybody has spare Ubiquiti Unifi wireless access points please let me know - @LimehouseTH could really use them! We're refitting the network to improve it for building users and events and our budget is zero pounds.
