We're all sore after last wk but Wales international football culture is now embedded in our psyche. My latest piece huffingtonpost.co.uk/phil-jo…
We don’t make nearly enough of the living legend that is John Toshack. A hero of the game, here and overseas.
Today we had the chance to reflect on John Toshacks contribution to @Cymru as he visited @FAWales 🏴

Greens will tear themselves apart over Palestine/Israel. Aside from that, Greens wider unequivocal defence of Islam - by any measure a deeply conservative religion - also seems at odds with liberal/left values that are hard baked into the Green Party. Riding 2 horses rarely works
We played ok in patches tonight but never really threatened & I’m still baffled by the subs. Surely, Kieffer should have been on ahead of Harris & wasn’t Dan James warming up at one point? but still didn’t get on despite being the sort of player to cause some damage-was he unfit?
Wales were tremendous last night. Pace, movement and ability to see out the game were all top drawer. Lots of great individual performances and Dan James’ boots were so hot he’d have had to plunge them in a bucket of ice cold water after the game.
English football has been heading in the same money obsessed route as Formula 1 since 1992. Genuinely can’t get too worked up over Man City’s ‘crimes.’ You might as well just support a corporate juggernaut like Amazon, Apple or Google instead of your favourite PL football team.
If Labour have a commitment to a referendum on rejoining the EU in their next manifesto they will walk the next general election. Voters of the Greens, Libs, SNP, Plaid & even lots of Tories will be falling over themselves to ‘lend’ their votes to Labour.
If Rees-Mogg’s ideology was followed to the letter we’d still be sending kid up chimneys, access to any kind of healthcare would be subject to ones bank balance & paid annual leave would be a pipe-dream. Forget the old world charm & good manners, the man is a charlatan.
Burnham is at the head of a party that has contributed a great deal to the decline of the UK. Paradoxically, Burnham is also just about the only person with the vision & leadership needed to begin fixing the UK. What are the alternatives? He’s the only show in town.
Love Rob Earnshaw but his punditry is a bit like an alphabetti spaghetti fever dream. Random words and butchered cliches and all delivered at the pace of a stage hypnotist.
I’m completely turned off by many Palestinian activists & propagandists who are happy to turn a blind eye to other atrocious regimes. However, many UN experts, who I trust, have described what the Israeli govt have done in Gaza as a ‘genocide.’ A sporting ban on Israel is overdue
Lovely tribute to the wonderful Kevin Keegan on ITV just now. There’s an old saying that it’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice - he was the embodiment of that. RIP King Kev

Why is anyone surprised about Ed Sheeran? Gen Z music is all about either cosplaying music that's decades old or supermarket music with lyrics.
The fact a generation thinks it's some sort of genius rather than the unimaginative, toe the line corporate dirge that it is, tells you everything you need to know.
In the 70's and 80's there was Rock against racism, bands refused to play in anti apartheid South Africa Sun City, etc etc. Real bands made up of men and women who's music inherently had a message beyond " I love you, you're great, innit". The reason why Sheeran can have his huge success today is because the contract between artist and promoter/label is "be as bland as you can be, cause no trouble, you'll be rich ". Same in almost every media industry now.
So why would a bland, smiley moron with bland supermarket music for the musically semi literate have an opinion on anything? Seriously?
The music industry couldn't make money with bands who refused to toe the line 40 years ago, they were too unpredictable, too many songs banned on radio, too close to the truth, so they gave out deals based on compliance, mass market averageness and understanding of the rules, "say nothing, just play your fucking guitar".
That so many are looking at an industry talking head for some sort of political guidance is about as tragic as it fucking gets.
Vote! Join a party! March! Protest!
Ed Sheeran nor any other musician that's raking it in isn't coming to give you a voice.
I hope this is just speculation but if it becomes reality it’ll just shift the congestion from the M4 onto Newports already congested streets & cause even poorer air quality for residents. It’s a bad idea - in fact, it’s a very bad idea.
