It turns out that trading for an EDGE rusher coming off of an injury that required offseason surgery and then paying him a lot of money while also signing a CB that isn't a scheme fit to a big deal while letting a S that was a scheme fit walk on a reasonable deal and having no plan at safety other than taking your superstar slot defender play safety part time and thus making him bad at both wasn't the best offseason plan for the defense.

Couple things that have seemed to be misunderstood amongst the general public on the Jalen Hurts situation, according to @TomPelissero:
- Jalen Hurts was allowed to sleep, and did, prior to starting against the Jaguars.
- Multiple doctors and NFL personnel say they would’ve also cleared Jalen Hurts to play if a ‘superficial blood clot’ was the initial diagnosis.
- All parties are seemingly on the same page, this is not a “Jalen Hurts vs Eagles” type of thing.

After listening to Pellisaro on the ringer pod it sounds like it's been an entire misreporting around Jalen (Tom included)
The "stay awake" thing was the plan for the entire team going to London. Jalen went to a clinic for further testing and was cleared with superficial clots

Uh, my feelings about the Ed Brubaker thing are complicated:
1) Never heard anything about him personally or really interacted with him in the comics industry..so for me to comment on whether these accusations are likely true or not would be me squawking outta my butt.
2) I mean sh*t, I really liked the Winter Soldier stuff…but I also have an elaborate curio cabinet partially filled with some writing & art I like created by people who also have done *yikes* things (and some of the *yikes* things eventually get them kicked out of the cabinet, and others are more mehhhhhh).
3. It is human nature for Brubaker’s colleagues & friends to automatically defend him (even if, in the past, some of these same people have automatically & publicly condemned other accused people who were not their colleagues & friends. Human nature).
4. Most probably, in the end, this is a situation best handled with courts & evidence. There is no “trial by social media”…I mean, sure, there’s a defacto “trial” that takes place in social media regardless, but there shouldn’t be.

Saddened to hear of Lindsay’s death though we so regularly disagreed. But he was a good friend and an amazingly effective Senator. Also, the funniest. One Christmas break I told him my family was going to Puerto Rico. He said, “Do two fundraisers. One for those who are pro-statehood and one for those who are against it. They never talk to each other.”
