Absolutely GIGANTIC hail hammered Asunción and surrounding cities in Paraguay on October 3 🎾
Been seeing some wild posts lately and wanted to dig in!
☁️⚡From fallstreak holes and "fire rainbows" to lingering contrail grids, cloud seeding, and rocket-triggered lightning. Are we just looking at rare atmospheric physics, or is there more to the story?

Everyone's out here waiting for aliens to arrive. WE are the aliens. A camera we built is orbiting mars right now, staring into a crater no living thing has ever seen. crossed the void, showed up unannounced, peeked inside. In this story we're the visitors from another world.🪐

Lost in the Amazon Rainforest?
Good luck finding your way out of here..
A massive DANA system, Storm Adam, has stalled over Eastern Spain, dumping over 4.5 inches (116 mm) of rain and triggering mass evacuations across Valencia and Alicante. 🚁🌊

Another massive sinkhole, this time swallowing 15 cars in Kunming, China, on Sunday.
Thankfully, nobody was injured, but these road collapses seem to be happening more and more often.
October 11, 2026 | NEPAL 🇳🇵
Another massive flood has struck Nepal's Gorkha district, sweeping away homes and bridges.
A suspected landslide-dam failure may have triggered the surge. Authorities warn the danger isn't over.

Hurricane Isaias slammed into Florida's Gulf Coast as a Category 2 storm on October 9, bringing intense winds, severe structural damage and coastal flooding.
The storm has weakened, but dangerous flooding remains a threat inland.
🇵🇦 Two powerful earthquakes rocked Panama on October 9 — magnitude 7.7 followed by 6.6 just hours later.
Buildings damaged, roads cracked, widespread evacuations, and 100+ aftershocks recorded by evening.

Nearly 5.3 inches (135 mm) of rain in under two hours sent powerful floodwaters through markets and streets, knocking people off their feet.
And Hurricane Simon is still strengthening offshore.

🇪🇨 TWO hailstorms struck Quito, Ecuador, just 3 days apart — October 4 & 7, 2026.
Hail accumulated up to 31.5 inches (80 cm) deep in one underpass, obstructing drainage and intensifying flash flooding.
This is how incredibly difficult it is to extinguish the peat fires burning across Indonesia.
Firefighters can pour enormous amounts of water onto the ground, but several feet beneath the surface, the peat continues smoldering. These underground fires spread through layers of dried, carbon-rich organic material, making it extremely difficult to determine exactly where the fire is burning.
There are specialized techniques to inject water directly into the ground, but locating and reaching every underground hotspot across such enormous areas is an extraordinary challenge.
Just add severe drought, exhausted firefighting resources, and illegal land clearing—including burning associated with palm oil production.
These consequences extend far beyond Indonesia.
In just ONE WEEK, Indonesia's fires produced an estimated 19.7 million metric tons of fire emissions, the highest of any country in the world during that period.
According to NASA, peat fires can produce three times more fine particulate pollution, five times more sulfur dioxide, and twice as much methane and carbon monoxide as other tropical forest fires.
The resulting toxic haze has spread across Southeast Asia, threatening the health of millions of people.
And because peatlands store carbon accumulated over thousands of years, burning them releases enormous quantities of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
