i have a lot of opinions but opinions are subject to change
theres only two things i wholeheartedly believe with my soul:
1. advanced stats are ruining sports
2. tumblr ruined twitter

Tumblr made mental illness "cool" then suddenly everyone was depressed, then they all became Cr.3ætive$ now theyre all SJW's

those guys who only reblog pics of naked asian women on tumblr and dont use vowels and write poems and have nose piercings

and it all started because Tumblr tried to ban porn on their website after Yahoo bought them, so those blue haired people who speak using symbols came to Twitter and stopped everyone from making admittedly horrible jokes by saying "whats funny about that?"

songs like Blurred Lines are catchy and have a fun beat but the lyrics are move heavily scrutinised, songs from 1999 are "cancelled", movies from 1970 are censored, creativity cant evolve because nobody wants to offend so they hire firms to make sure its all good, art suffers

a lot of people never recovered, a lot of people never evolved, a lot of people tried to fight against it and double down.. ultimately the result is what you see now, extremes on both end of the scale with those in the middle unable to please either side, creatively its a hassle

i could give examples but the main takeaways were rape culture, racism, sexism and the likes being taken more seriously and addressed and called out... a lot of people were comfortable making those jokes and overnight it suddenly all became VERY unacceptable

Tumblr was a segregated safe space for "alternative" people, when they all migrated over to Twitter they changed the entire landscape of the internet and by association, the world, it was good and it was bad… they called out a lot of stuff but as a result we regressed creatively

Could you expand on what you meant by this. Cause I had one and I loved it, but I feel like I understand what you may be insinuating🧐

Man I’m so glad I was alive to experience this , I think that’s why life now really soo annoying. as a kid I assumed it would keep on being like that for me as an adult. Ppl really don’t see how much we peaked culturally in the 2000s and regressed a lot after 2011 imo🫠
