Engineers Ireland are calling for 2:1 spending on public transport to be brought back in to reduce congestion and car dependency.
It was introduced by the Greens and removed by FF & FG in this government resulting in delays to projects like DART+ and Luas Finglas.

They've done it again, they've cut more rail projects. The most criminal one for me is cancelling the reopening of the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare line. On the left is the All-island Rail Review published by the last government and on the right is the plan published today.

Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

Grants should make it easier for people to go electric.
That’s why we’re proposing a single, increased EV grant to replace the current system that disproportionately benefits higher earners 👇
✅ A fair, flat €4,500 grant for all
✅ Support for lower-income buyers
✅ A faster route to meet our 2030 EV target

The Residential Zoned Land Tax is essential to take land hoarders to task and ensure that our many empty sites lying idle in the country are put to use.
Government loopholes are gutting the Land Hoarding Tax. Empty sites stay empty. Hoarders keep winning.
This budget should be closing loopholes - not widening them.
