Miniscope Zero, the first fully wireless Miniscope, is on @biorxivpreprint! Wireless power + data enable neural recordings in enclosed mazes, 3D environments & from two animals at once! @BroschMarcel @MiniscopeTeam Paper: doi.org/10.64898/2026.09.05.… Wiki: miniscope.org/wiki/Miniscope…

So proud of this paper led by Pingping Zhao where we use miniaturized microscopy in nucleus Accumbens and optogenetics to discover how activity in D1 and D2 MSNs reciprocally modulate social interaction and altered in a model of autism.

So excited about our new preprint by Pingping Zhao and colleagues on cell-type specific and long-term stability of social representations in the nucleus accumbens and prefrontal cortex! Using miniaturized microscopy and we discover destabilized activity in an autism model.
Excited to share our preprint, the work I’ve done in Golshani lab @pgolshani. Using UCLA Miniscope, I explored NAc neural representation of social interaction and identified representational deficit in Cntnap2 KO mice. More exciting results are coming! Stay tuned.

I recently told lab members to ask me any question they wanted and many of their questions were about money. How much do assistant professors make? Difference between soft and hard money positions? etc. 1/5

This has to be the worst possible thing one can do to our scientific enterprise. My lab’s had immigrants from Greece, Israel, China, S Korea here on visas. They each bring talent and determination. This is not America First. This is America intolerant, third-rate, and close-minded. – at Hidden Hills, CA

1/6 Open source hardware is still rare in neuroscience. @MiniscopeTeam & @OpenEphys have joined forces to change that. We’ll have a booth (1766) at #SfN19. There are so many new tools in development we can’t list them all, but here are a few highlights: #OExMiniscopeSfN

Another calcium imaging analysis suite. This one is from Biafra Ahanonu, and it focuses on data from head-mounted mini-epifluorescence scopes (1p). It supports ICA, CNMF, and CNMF-E. Detailed README/workflow on github, with code: github.com/bahanonu/calciumI…

So excited to have this work from our lab out in BioArxiv!
My work at the @pgolshani lab is finally online! "Emergence of stable sensory and dynamic temporal representations in the hippocampus during working memory" Check it out: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shor…
Really nice article on our #Miniscope project and the @NSF NeuroNex Program, neuronex.org/news/1. @DanielBAharoni @pgolshani @alcinojsilva @VaziriLab @tmhoog
