PipeRiv is now tracking daily #electricity generation sources. This data can be found in other places but it's the first PipeRiv connection to EIA data. Long term goals are to provide more insight into #natgas powerburn, renewables, etc. This is the first step to get there.

Correction: While posting updates about Freeport LNG in July, I would post values in MMBtu but I would sometimes mention the values in Bcf. In those posts, I incorrectly calculated Bcf. I should have been dividing MMBtu by 1,038,000 (based on the latest EIA data). #natgas #lng

The MMBtu values were correct but the Bcf values were slightly off (they had been calculated by dividing by 1,000,000). I do my best to provide accurate data but there are going to be times that I post incorrect data. I want to do my best to make corrections when that happens.

I'm going to be using the divide by 1,038,000 going forward based off this EIA page updated in 2024 (it looks like the previous value in 2023 was 1,036,000). If you think I should be using a different value to calculate Bcf from MMBtu, please let me know. eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?i…
