Shield walls and rorke’s drift…what boy hasn’t thought about this playing in the yard as a kid or reading about helms deep or the Alamo or Zulu wars for first time. Two things I think of immediately: Alamo survivor Susanna Dickinson Hannig weighed in on the subject of Bowie (of knife fame) 38 years later. She stated that Bowie was sick in bed, and when the Mexican soldiers entered his room, “…he killed two of them with his pistols before they pierced him through with their sabres.” Various versions exist, him fighting until end is a common theme. And then there’s his mom’s take upon learning of his death…it is said when told her gallant son James had been killed by the Mexicans at the Alamo, she received the news calmly, remarking that she would ‘wager no wounds were found in his back’....” truewestmagazine.com/article… Secondly I’m reminded of eomers in lord of rings. When he sees the pirate ships that portend doom.. "For once more lust of battle was on him; and he was still unscathed, and he was young, and he was king: the lord of a fell people. And lo! even as he laughed at despair he looked out again on the black ships, and he lifted up his sword to defy them." The time for bravery I suppose isn’t always in a clearly defined last stand, but sometimes incremental battles along the way. Not as celebrated and obvious but perhaps Buchanan, Enoch Powell, junger, and others while cast as villains, were the harbinger of common sense and standing up for western values, beliefs, and culture early before the shield wall was needed.

The media hates nuclear families, loving moms, traditional values and gender roles. They’re “fantasy land” to them. The idea of finding fulfillment in providing a stable loving environment, mastering skills like baking and cooking, these are “balms” for boredom. Real meaning is a cubicle job where you send your kids to kindergarten with fat trans teacher, pay for someone else to raise your kids, rush home to spend ‘quality time’ browbeat spouse, celebrate your freedom from societal norms, and earn the right to be hated by same cohort that pushes this drivel for being a corporate shill and rich when you’re stabbed in Times Square

Mainstream media suffers from inability to even frame things objectively Always note the wording. Traffic cameras. Cause all the uproar lately on Flock is about those crazy traffic cameras just watching for back ups and traffic snarls so you’ll know what’s ahead on interstate. That’s what all this is about.

My take: this is what Jordan, hawley, Cruz and the rest excel at! Circus theatrics, owning the libs, 10 second video showing bravery and linguistic talent, meaningless vibes and curated speeches. Passing stuff, nah, not their thing.

Is there a name for the condition where one is picked by casting agent and ends up famous and gets a few roles and then the person decides they’re an expert on things (climate, politics, foreign policy…) and that all interviews should focus on their expertise in those rather than how fortunate they are to have been selected?

To all those worried about the forever wars and whether the base on right supports bombing campaigns and regime change I would point to this graphic. They will tolerate side quests if brief and wrapped up and long as the main policies are successful and extend into midterms and beyond. No question that domestic issues should reign supreme but realistically international diversions will and should probably happen, it’s part of being a world power. They just can’t siphon off energy and focus for very long.
