her quest, she sought
a witch's favor beneath the
winter solstice,
a bargain with the dusk
to seam what dawn had
failed to mend,
a longing trapped within
its echo.

Somewhere, along the timeline, there was a choice that had demanded evolution.
Perhaps? It came in response to the mewlings of the schoolyard paper tigers.
Or maybe? It was inspired by the pig tails who wouldn't give him a single Valentine's crumb.
Instinctively, he knew there was more to this than merely survival, and from then on he was determined that no one was going to crush his soul.
His heart was never conflicted, for he had come in peace and in return, they had only offered war.
