I can’t recall a more pronounced transition from summer to fall.
Summer left like it owed someone money.
Travel has a way of reminding you how small you are. The world is vast and there are places full of people whose lives will unfold without ever brushing against yours.
And yet, somehow, God has decided that your life still matters to what He is doing in the world.
I’ve never cheered for Ole Miss, but I’ve always cheered for Mississippi. Tonight’s game reminded me why.
You don’t have to respond to everything.
Not every moment has to be addressed
Not every slight has to be acknowledged
Not every challenge has to be accepted
Not every question has to be answered
Not every invitation has to be accepted
Rest feels uncomfortable when being needed was how you learned you mattered.
You are important when you are tired.
You are important when you have nothing to give.
You are important when you cancel plans.
You are important when you can’t show up.
You don’t owe the world your exhaustion to prove your place in it.
The moment you begin taking your calling seriously, resistance will follow, not because you are wrong, but because your seriousness is unsettling to those who benefit from your delay.
Grateful to share that I’ve earned the Chief Human Resources Officer Certificate from The Wharton School. Thankful for the growth.
For everyone who learned to call themselves “low-maintenance,” not because it was true but because you were trained to minimize, manage, and muffle your needs.
Your needs were never too loud. They just weren’t safe in the wrong hands.
No one talks about the courage it takes to heal a pain no one even knew existed.
To repair the broken pieces because no one ever saw you bleeding.
You chose healing without a microphone and growth without applause and that matters even if the world never celebrates you for it.
This is for the people who were taught to earn love through performance. The ones who were applauded for being gifted but rarely seen when they werent shining.
You deserve relationships where you don’t have to audition for acceptance and where your worth isn’t tied to what you produce.
And whether it’s easy to believe or not, you deserve to be loved on the days you can’t be impressive.
Stop wasting tears on people waiting for you to fall, on doors God has already closed, and on environments shrinking who you’re becoming.
Save your grief for real loss, not dead weight.
If I’m at a store and ask how much something costs and after hearing the price I reply “oh that’s not that bad,” it was absolutely that bad and that’s just me choosing to walk away with dignity.
If you’re not careful, you’ll hold onto the best chapter you’ve lived so far, devoting yourself to roles, relationships, and routines that no longer breathe life into you.
Trust me— there is greater waiting for you on the unwritten pages of your life but you must be willing to turn the page.
In studying the scriptures, I keep stumbling over this truth: the Kingdom of God was never carried only by the Apostles whose names we remember.
It is also carried by names we will never know, by widows with empty cupboards, servants without titles, and poor people with no platform.
God doesn’t need permission to choose His witnesses. He can take the very ones the world throws away and makes them participants in His purpose.
