The ZRP reports a sad incident in which an eight month-old baby girl died on 24/10/2026 after crawling towards a bucket full hot water which she pulled over herself at a house in Epworth, Harare on 21/10/2026. Subsequently, she sustained serious burns and was admitted at Sally Mugabe Hospital where she passed on.
The ZRP is appealing for information which may assist to identify a male adult, estimated to be aged between 25 and 35, whose body was discovered along a stream at Sherwood Golf Course, Harare on 1/07/2026. The victim was wearing black jeans, an orange T-shirt, a black jacket and a white Jordan sneaker on one foot. The body is at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Mortuary. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.
On 25/10/2026 ZRP Support Unit members deployed on operation “No to Cross Border Crimes,” at Beitbridge Border Post arrested Precious Moyo (38) of Dhalazi, Gwanda and Bernard Fighton Moyo (40) of Siyoka village, Makhadho, for unlawful possession of dagga. The team was patrolling along the border when it intercepted the suspects after they had crossed the Limpopo River into Zimbabwean. Searches were made leading to the recovery of eight cobs of dagga.# No to drug and substance abuse.
The Officer Commanding Harare Province, Commissioner Maxwell Chikunguru has officiated at the CID Drugs and Narcotics Business Against Drug and Substance Abuse awareness campaign at Sam Levy Village, Borrowdale, Harare. The event was graced by various stakeholders who include church leaders, company executives, school children, local musicians such as Chipo Muchegwa and residents across Harare suburbs, among others.
On 24 /10/2026, members of the police deployed in Beitbridge on operation “No to Cross Border Crimes” arrested Energy Mangisi (34) at Parks Area C for unlawful possession of a firearm and dagga. The team recovered an unlicensed Ekol Viper 4.5 pistol with 20 blank 9mm rounds and dagga.
On 22/10/2026, Police in Bulawayo acted on received information and arrested Sibanda Bongeka (28) following a speed chase for dealing in dangerous drugs. The arrest led to the recovery of a contraband comprising Benylin and Broncleer cough syrups as well as dagga.
The ZRP is appealing for information which may assist to locate Patrick Tavonga Makonese (27) who went missing on 03/08/26 in Gweru. He was last seen travelling to Bulawayo from a house in Ascot, Gweru. He was wearing a black and white jean trousers , brown leather jacket and black and white sport shoes. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.
The ZRP reports a tragic incident in which a 7-year-old learner, Anotida Makoto, died after a fight with another 7-year-old learner at Zengenene Primary School grounds in Murewa on 23/10/2026. The victim reportedly collapsed and lost consciousness after the altercation. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at St Paul’s Musami Hospital.
On 22/10/26, Police in Bulawayo arrested Nkosilathi Ngwenya (46) for driving a UD truck under the influence of alcohol along Masiyephambili Road. The suspect was found with excessive alcohol content in the blood after being subjected to a breathalyzer test.
Police in Siakobvu arrested Milder Madyembeu (22) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Siachitondo Village, Kauzhumba, on 21/10/2026. The suspect allegedly assaulted his eight-year-old nephew, Nico Mujoni with a Mopane stick after the victim had failed to master concepts which the suspect was teaching him during a homework study session. The child later succumbed to the injuries sustained.
The ZRP is investigating a fatal hit and run road traffic accident which occurred on 23/10/23 at around 0300 hours along Christmas Pass-Shamu Road, Mutare. Two pedestrians died on the spot after being hit by a motorist who did not stop after the accident. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.
On 22/10/26, police in Marondera acted on received information and arrested Evangelist Nyadore (50) for unlawful possession of 22 kilogrammes of dagga. Meanwhile, Morgen Godwin Zindoga (30) was arrested at North Bound Bus Search Bay, Beitbridge Border Post for unlawful possession of Astra Pain Cough Syrup.
