A coronal hole is directly facing Earth today! We may see fast wind from this open patch of magnetic fields sweep past Earth and trigger minor geomagnetic storming around 10/20 or 10/21.
High-latitudes may be in for quite a show of active and exciting auroral displays. Mid-latitudes, too just a bit more sporadic of chances with displays lower on the poleward horizon. Let’s wait and see!

Cuban national and Guatemalan citizen Fernando Armando Valdes Perez infiltrated and reported on Cuban exile and dissident communities in Latin America and the United States as early as the mid-1990s.
Valdes gained the trust and confidence of late anti-Castro dissident Luis Posada Carriles and remained close to other well-known Cuban and Cuban American figures in South Florida until his July 10 arrest by ICE @EROMiami the FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
He was deported Aug. 7 after investigators determined he concealed his position and affiliation with the regime when he fraudulently applied for and obtained lawful status.
