If you want to move your child from independent school and an application to your chosen state school is refused, you can appeal. Costs nothing and you might succeed. #VAT #VATSchoolFees #Education #privateschool #SchoolVAT

Interesting article re VAT for indep schools. This will increase pressure on places at good schools, many parents will be disappointed, & there will be lots more appeals.#schoolappeal #VATonprivateschools #schooladmissions #nationalofferday

School Appeals Myth:
"There is no point appealing as we don't live in the catchment area"
UNTRUE: You can win an appeal even if you don't live in the catchment area

School Applications: Some parents try to 'play the system', some simply give up, others move house, all to get the right school. If your child did not get their preferred school you can appeal.

School Admissions: The assumption is that parents know what they are doing because all the info is in the paperwork. This paperwork runs to many pages, is hard to find, and different for every School. No wonder so many children miss out.#NationalOfferDay #Year7 #SchoolAdmission
School Places: Each local authority has a different approach for admissions and appeals. It's not unusual for parents to apply for schools in neighbouring authorities - this adds another level of complexity to an already confusing process.

Some of the #canapés offered to guests at the Kate Adie talk in Hindon last night. Hard work, but worth it as we raised funds to fix #Chicklade #Church #roof
Great talk by #KateAdie last night at St John’s Church in Hindon. Fascinating to hear about her time as a war reporter. A fundraiser for Chicklade church. #churchroof #fundraiser
Thanks to @VisitWiltshire for hosting the visit for local businesses to @EH_Stonehenge early this morning. #timeforwiltshire
