The human neurons developed electrical activity, integrated into the mouse's nervous system, and extended nerve fibers all the way into its SPINAL CORD.
Electrical activity in the HUMAN BRAIN TISSUE was associated with the mice's facial movements.
The chimeric mice also demonstrated WORKING MEMORY, performing above chance on a memory test that mice lacking most of their cerebral cortex failed.
This is straight out of a dystopian nightmare.
