Every three seconds, someone in the world dies of sepsis. Knowing the signs could save lives: sepsistrust.org/about/about-…
Just finished the formatting and packaging (again) and SUCCESS! This time it worked! But thanks to the software crashing last night, I've now a whole day behind my 'I'm a week behind because I've been in hospital' schedule! Doh! Plus,am STILL DRESSED! (But that's about to be rectified immediately)!
And of course I've got to start all yesterday's work again because of course the software never saved it 🙄

The BBC has agreed to pay £400,000 to an award-winning Jewish documentary-maker who alleged she was subjected to antisemitism and pushed out of the corporation after October 7.
Lucie Kon, 57, spent 22 years at the BBC and worked on programmes including Panorama, Today, BBC Breakfast and Storyville. Films she commissioned or helped produce won an Oscar, Emmy and Bafta.
Kon says her treatment changed dramatically after the Hamas attacks. She alleges colleagues described Zionists like her as “evil”, argued that Israel should be called terrorist if Hamas was, and told her to consider what had driven Hamas to carry out the massacre.
When she proposed a documentary about October 7, Kon says she was told she was “too partial” to oversee it because she was Jewish.
She subsequently filed a formal grievance, but a BBC investigation rejected her complaint. Kon says she was then kept away from work for months. During a restructuring, her position was made redundant and she failed to secure the similar role replacing it.
She launched unfair-dismissal proceedings.
The BBC has now agreed substantial compensation, reported as £400,000, without admitting liability or accepting that Kon suffered antisemitism.
Kon says Jewish employees still at the corporation continue to face hostility and feel unable to identify openly as Jewish or Zionist.
I did a full day's work on a manuscript yesterday and my software froze. Wouldn't save the changes. Let's see if I wasted a full day, shall we.....
Morning everyone ❤️ my milk ( the pinta that cost me thirteen quid via Uber Eats has gone off. They bought it yesterday but didn't look at the date. Shame on @sainsburys too for selling out of date goods)!
I've only just heard about his passing but Rest In Peace, @AndyBeattie9. Thank you for looking after the doggies so well and for being a great twitter friend over the years. So very sad.
Most of what is wrong with the Church of England is self imposed.

It's not been a bad day ... one coughing fit, several hours of formatting (ugh, but it has to be done), and a walk down to the bins. Now,that won't seem very appealing, and it probably isn't, but a. Our bins are not outside, so I didn't have to get blown round the village like an inflatable Mrs. Staypuft and b. I've managed it without wheezing, coughing, spluttering or gasping for breath. This is progress! Yesterday when I went to Laundry Lil's I wheezed and coughed like an old chimney. Today felt much better!
Right. I'm off to get dressed cos I need to do an Uber Eats. (The two are connected, I hate anyone seeing me in my nighty or pyjamas).
I'm quite looking forward to it getting darker earlier tonight. I used to hate winter, but now I approach it as an opportunity to indulge in all the things that make me feel cosy amd comfortable. Closing the blinds and curtains early and switching on the warm glow of the lamp means I don't see the gathering night. A comforting dinner, something like hot pot or stew with a hunk of crusty bread. Then getting undressed into favourite pyjamas and having a really indulgent hot chocolate whilst settling down to write in the comfort and cosiness I've created by soft lights, warm blankets and candles. Having a winter ritual and readying myself for the long dark nights certainly has a positive effect for me. I don't sit there any longer staring out of the window grumbing about the encroaching darkness. I've prepared for it! I don't moan about the long night ahead,I embrace it and try to make it useful time that I can catch up on some work or a hobby. (I'm very lucky because my work is a hobby)! I'm slowly realising winter is a state of mind and how we approach it can have a profound effect on our mental health. ❤️ #cosywinternights #beprepared #indulge #createyourowncosy
