Im a Unitarian. I find both groups to be wrong on this. “The First and the Last” is not a title of deity. It’s a title essentially meaning “one and only”. God the Father is the only Creator. Jesus is the only one who died and resurrected for us. Jesus is a human and not God. But that is not a demotion any more than saying your mom is not your dad.

I've got a whole chapter in my book about this. The book of Acts is so revealing when it comes to what the New Testament gospel is and is not.
“…Jesus…a man approved of God unto you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him…” Acts 2:22 ASV “even Jesus..how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing…for God was with him.” Acts 10:38 ASV

In 529 AD the Justinian Code codified Nicene Orthodoxy into imperial law, making explicit belief in the Trinity the mandatory religious standard of the Roman Empire. The opening book of the Code, titled On the Supreme Trinity and the Catholic Faith, explicitly declared that 👇

If you care to read the comments, you'll see we have a pandemic of false doctrines, among people who call themselves "christian"
Basic Biblical fact: Jesus was convicted of blasphemy in his trial before the Sanhedrin for claiming to be the Christ, the Son of God. Not God.

There is a book coming out next year that argues the Beloved Disciple, who provides the testimony for the Gospel of John, is actually Lazarus. There have been quite a few scholars coming to this conclusion lately. This is an incredibly interesting thesis. Big if true.

Deity dwelling in Jesus is not hypostatic language, it is temple/tabernacle language. In Ephesians Paul talks about all Christians being filled with the fullness of God.

Protestants didn’t discover the Trinity from Scripture alone, that’s a lie. It’s inherited it from the Catholic Church. The odds of arriving at the Nicene Trinity from the Bible alone is very small. They’re standing on Catholic shoulders!

Trinity is not explicitly mentioned in the bible. It's a Catholic dogma. But here's one Sola Scriptura Protestant using it to disqualify another Sola Scriptura Protestant from being considered "Christian." You can't make this up.
This is where Catholics get it wrong. This woman isn’t an evangelical, and furthermore she isn’t a Christian. Oneness Pentecostals deny the trinity which disqualifies them from being Christians. And they claim to receive divine revelation which rejects Sola Scriptura.

Origen of Alexandria was a famous Middle Platonist who introduced the idea of the Son's eternal generation, but did he believe in the doctrine of the Trinity? This week's episode examines what Origen believed and taught about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In short, no, Origen was not a trinitarian, and he was highly criticized by later trinitarians for his beliefs. He was a Platonically influenced, two-stage logos subordinationist who believed the true God was the Father alone. youtu.be/K7UUqblAUbM

What does Jesus mean when he speaks of the preexistent glory that he possessed with the only true God before the world existed? How does wisdom christology shed much-needed light on this disputed passage? This week's episode explores John 17:5 and reveals that it has nothing to do with conscious preexistence at all. youtu.be/lJ7qd4eC0W4
