“It is simply to remind ourselves that, wherever we are, the responsibilities we have are not just about ourselves. What we do affects many other people. When we do things well, they benefit. When we do things badly, they also suffer the consequences. That is what I always want to remind everyone of.” President Kagame | Swearing-in of New Senior Officials.

“As time goes by, as one year ends and another begins, whether we are continuing with responsibilities we already have or taking on new ones, what is most important is that we take it upon ourselves to reflect and assess how we have been doing things. How well have we carried out our responsibilities in the past? And as we take on new ones, how much more effort do we need to put in to do better? But this applies to everyone. Those taking the oath today, those who took the oath before and have other responsibilities, and even those outside government who are doing something for the country or for themselves. This is an opportunity for all of us to reflect and constantly seek ways to do better, and to do things as they should be done.” President Kagame | Swearing-in of New Senior Officials.

“It is an honour and privilege for Rwanda to be chosen as a destination in the Formula One calendar. What brought us together is a shared conviction that Africa has the potential to elevate the quality of motorsports as a global and elite discipline.
Integrating African markets with global sports franchises and competitions offers transformative opportunities. Yet, if we have to be honest with ourselves, this cross-border connection has existed for a long time, just not in Africa’s favour.
The message for all of us is simple: sports is a great equalizer, but we have to be intentional about delivering this promise. Rwanda is happy and excited to be part of a journey that will change how Africa is perceived in the world of sports. We want to contribute, not just participate, and this new chapter in motorsports starts today" President Kagame | Formula 1 African Grand Prix Announcement

"Just look at the name here," said Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
"It's not selfish. It's not for Rwandan. It's called Africa. This is sending a message. It is about Africa. So thank you again for using that name.
"Today is not only about announcing a race. It is about opening a new chapter in the history of Formula 1.
"For more than three decades, Africa has been absent from Formula 1 calendar. The last campaign was in Africa was in South Africa, and it was, as we said, many decades ago. And today, here in Rwanda, we are announcing the return of Formula One to this great continent." – at Rwanda

“Our responsibilities as leaders are well known. Ultimately, all of these responsibilities are about serving our country and our people.
People face challenges, but solutions must also be found, starting with leaders, wherever they may be.
The problems that can be resolved should be dealt with immediately and put behind us. For the more difficult ones, we should work together to find solutions." President Kagame | Swearing-in of New Members of Parliament

“To fulfil responsibilities properly requires knowledge, good judgment, and the right conduct. It is not simply a matter of following the law. It goes beyond that, to the values and standards that should guide how people conduct themselves.
This is particularly important when we consider the problems that need to be addressed, so that our citizens do not continue to carry the burden of problems that can be resolved.” President Kagame | Swearing-in of New Members of Parliament
