They may “still exist”, however, given the long list of players that have announced they are no longer wishing to grow the game, or they are leaving LIV to spend more time with their families (the irony is thick) calling LIV2.0 a “threat” to the DPWT requires mental gymnastics

So a government fund ( Saudi/ PIF) which has virtually unlimited resources defaults on its commitments to fund LIV, a professional golf tour that, if you believed them, was meant to grow the game globally.
As I said at the beginnings of this ill conceived attempt to clean up the image of the Saudi government through LIV, the very nature of golf was drug into the sewer.
An evil ethos of corruption and consumption invaded the game trying to replace the generosity of spirit (and philanthropy) that the game has been imbued with for the better part of a century. The LIV players went from being autonomous—picking and choosing where they play, sometimes on a whim and answering to nobody—to going where they were told, playing courses they likely didn’t care for, under conditions they had no say in and finally and most sadly, playing for a dictatorial theocratic murderer.
So who is to blame for the damage done to professional golf? Not the Saudi government, evil people do evil things… but those who were essential in getting LIV off the ground and setting the cataclysmic events of law suits, discovery, defections, discord, greed, the massive career derailment or regression of almost all LIV players in motion…those who benefitted most from this destruction: Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau followed by EVERY player that took the money and inso doing became a puppet for a regime (against many ills) that butchered a journalist who spoke out against them.
For people now trying to justify the “good” LIV created - let’s not allow history to be rewritten. Golf fans went through incredible angst as a PGAT hater, armed with sovereign wealth billions, was hell bent on destroying the PGAT. The players recruited with pallets of cash were targeted with specificity to cause maximum damage - Cam wins the Open boom the Shark swims in with 💰, Rahm wins masters same thing, Stenson named Ryder Cup captain and suddenly his golf game is grade A for LIV. For golf fans it was as much about Norman trying to destroy the tour he listed as much as it was about Saudis Arabia deep cleaning the stains of its “mistakes”.
Good riddance to this dark era of the game of golf.

They tried to make a hero out of Colin Kaepernick for disrespecting the American flag.
They paid Kaepernick a staggering $25M and dished out a fully guaranteed multi-year contract.

By 2020, NIKE was all in on woke. Giving executive positions to DEI hires and making marketing campaigns that resembled Bernie Sanders campaign events.
Tragically, they forgot Michael Jordan's sage advice: Republicans buy sneakers, too.
Nike's executives watched in horror as their stock prices systematically collapsed.
Nike became a a bigger cautionary tale of woke marketing than Bud Light.
Today, Nike's demise culminated in a mind blowing 77% collapse in less than 5 years.
A once iconic American company is now on life support as Republicans sit back and laugh.
Nike went woke. Now they're broke.
And they richly deserve every single bit of it.

This is exactly the entitled LIV golfer and fan attitude that people cannot stand. NOBODY cares that he cashed in at 50 and went to LIV. It was 100% the right decision at that stage in his career.
What people hate is that he cashes out and THEN spends half his time bitching, whining, and complaining about every other tour and the “unfair treatment.”
Now his cash cow got pulled out from under him so he is suddenly “concerned” about the tour he had “no interest in rejoining” a couple years ago because he realizes he will have nowhere else to play.
He is a hypocrite who will be remembered as circus animal that was paraded around from continent to continent in his 50s by a failed golf tour.
And the Ryder Cup was not “pulled from underneath him.” He knew he might forfeit the chance at a Ryder Cup by joining LIV and he made the decision to take the money. Again, the right call.
But if someone tells you that if you reach into a lion’s mouth to grab $50 million you might get bit and you do it anyway, is it the lion’s fault if you do it your own?

I just asked Jon Rahm on whether he’s had any clarity on the future of LIV Golf and he said he had, but he wouldn’t commit to playing on the league in 2027:
“Yes. Well, we’re in contact with them. We know a lot of what’s going on. Not that I can share with you guys right now.”
I then followed up that he seemed optimistic:
“I’m always optimistic. I mean I play a game for a living. I can’t really be too upset about how things are going in life.”
Then I followed up with whether he expects to be playing on LIV Golf in 2027:
Shrugs. “I’m not going to share anything that I can’t share with you guys right now.”
