This is a joke. The leader of the scout program needs to either be let go or given a raise by MLS. Appearances for a national team affect the ability to get a work visa and a players worth. MLS player transfer fees increase. It all benefits the @MLS
100% MLS academy u16 call up!! No words for this kind of spirited recruiting effort. We are so bad at this.. @TaylorTwellman This is what I was talking about…. How do you justify the incestual relationship between US Soccer and MLS without saying the ynt call up system lacks merit? And since our national ynt lacks merit, the national team lacks merit.

USSF rewiring a youth system that they previously wired with the Development Academy and then cut the wire on to allow MLS to enter the youth space (MLSNext). Sure, I’m sure this will work out fine.
U.S. Soccer is on the verge of taking over the U.S. Youth Soccer Association. A significant, historic step toward a re-wiring of America's youth soccer system — but it comes w/ many unknowns. News, details, explanations, etc. free to read @TheAthletic: nytimes.com/athletic/7545747…

This Ticket Pricing Strategy slide from a USSF presentation still sticks with me. The #USMNT average attendance was about 10K higher in 1998 when ticket prices were lower. USSF = Revenue > Atmosphere.

Outside of #1 and maybe #6, this is an underwhelming list. Hopefully the Sporting Director’s list is different. #USMNT

*History Lesson* @ussoccer still does not adhere to FIFA Statutes: Regulations Governing the Application of the Statutes - Article 9 - Sporting Integrity > Principle of Promotion and Relegation

Promotion & Relegation completely changes how communities care about their soccer clubs. Every game and season is meaningful. Without it in the US, we’re missing a key part of what makes soccer special. Look at @Wrexham_AFC. Look at Como today. We need @ProRelForUSA.
Alessandro Gabrielloni joined Como when they were in Serie D and he was a semi-pro. He has scored regularly in their rise to the Serie A and this was his reaction just before Como secured promotion. We love this game 🙏❤️

If @MLS refuses to participate in the @opencup, pull the USSF/D1 sanction. That’s the path forward.

A fun listen for those who follow #FIFA and their disingenuous quest to grow the beautiful game. #ESPN #FOX
Former president of ESPN, John Skipper, explains how a handshake deal with FIFA for World Cup broadcast rights turned into becoming a government witness for the feds. 😳 "We had an agreement. ... What I know is, they wanted to award it to Fox." More: youtu.be/Gwo4X8XTAVw

Is U.S. Soccer truly independent? Or does it still work for Major League Soccer? With #MLS decision to abandon the Open Cup… we’re about to find out.

.@MLS reaction will be to change their own roster restrictions to allow for more reserve team players to be added to their 1st team’s @opencup rosters. Which is fine. They should’ve just done that instead of posturing like they did. This whole thing is dumb. MLS sucks 🤦‍♂️
We also have the statement by @MLS on the waiver denial.

Fully expected @ussoccer to cave in on this one. They have not (yet). Is this the start of another soccer war?
