Not sure the ancient Greeks never came up with this but a nation ruled by assholes would be a "proctocracy"

You don't need an explanation for Trump 2.0 other than that people just got really, really stupid in 2024. A society where the hawk tua lady got endorsement deals and a podcast was obviously not one that was taking things seriously.
Regarding Cheesecake Factory discourse I kinda think an important part of the joke is Saddam Hussein? 🤨
Trump's towering stupidity leads him to think the country is his company. Not the government, the country. That's why he says odd things about where the money goes and who makes it. Worse, because his companies were always scammy, he doesn't know how actual companies work either.

The media is tisk tisking Obama for making a crack about Cheesecake Factory but Trump bragging about "making a fortune" while gas prices are sky high will be sanewashed into "Trump declares the economy is strong in fiery campaign speech."
Trump: "Our country is making hundreds of billions of dollars on oil. and then on top of it we have Venezuela, and we have Greenland! 'Cause Greenland has a lot of oil. We're making trillions of dollars. But my people said 'please don't mention that, sir, because people are paying a little higher' ... we're making a frickin' fortune"
He never ever knows what “we” means in sentences like this

The actual vehicle for this would be left wing outlets deciding to be pro-Democratic party propaganda rather than what they do now, which is constantly tell their listeners the Democrats aren’t doing anything and are just secret Republicans.

Obama: So I've been doing a long time. Some people might say a little too long. One of those people is Michelle Obama. But she gave me a hall pass this weekend.
And when you've been campaigning as long as I have, you can tell when an election comes along that just feels a little bit different. An election where people are so ready for something new, so hungry for something better, that everywhere you go, change is in the air.
How I think he comes up with this stuff: he's shown graphics about his high approval rating among Republicans, and then thinks "and I get some Democrats too." 🤡
I asked the president about his job approval number. "It's fake," he quickly said. "It's fake." He pointed to the New York Times -- "The job approval, they said it's 37, 38?" he asked incredulously. "I'm not at 38." I asked where he thought his approval rating actually stands. "I don't believe I could be beaten by anybody," he said. "I think that if I needed it, which I don't, I think 60." "Right now, we’re living in Trump’s world, in Vance’s world, in Hegseth’s world. This is what a world without empathy looks like. It’s a world of constant othering, of constant rage, of a constant belief that life is a zero-sum game. But nothing flourishes in that world." publicnotice.co/p/trump-empa…

You know what I haven't heard from Republicans?
A single fucking thing about what they want to do to make a single fucking thing better.
All they have is how the scary transgender, communist, jihadist illegal is going to get you.

Over the last two years, $100 million in European taxpayer money has gone to Elon Musk to pay for Starlink for Ukraine.
In that same period, zero US taxpayer money has gone to Ukraine.
Replying to @elonmusk
And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!
It's routine online for bad-faith actors to use "this Democrat," "some Democrats," "Democrats," and "the Democrats" interchangeably, and people who trust what they read and hear can get manipulated without realizing it

Imagine if Hunter Biden was denied a security clearance, Biden overrode it and gives him one anyway, he then is put in charge of Middle East foreign policy, had his phone hacked, and we find out he has two private bank accounts, one from Saudi Arabia and one from Israel…yea
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

I rememeber under Biden when something like this was a weeks-long story that required the Secretary of Transportation to go on a national apology tour to explain the federal response. Don't ever believe the press has the same standards for both parties when in leadership.

A group dispatched by Hegseth's team in February attempted to move the historic globe, said to be used by Eisenhower during World War II.
They lifted it from its home in an Army office in the Pentagon ... and dropped it.
