This was a historic moment. The largest convening of #Indigenous geneticists, data scientists, physicians to include other national leaders at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory's science think tank, the Banbury Institute @cshlbanbury, to discuss Indigenous reference #genomes and implications:

Let's also give credit to Tom Koetzel who established the PDB and ran it for decades, the DOE Brookhaven Nation Laboratory that provided a home for the resource, and legendary program officer John Wooley who shepherded it through many uncertain funding cycles
Much of the success of breakthroughs, such as AlphaFold, is thanks to a database of protein structures dreamed up in the 1960s by Helen Berman go.nature.com/4hp4UCP

I’m back.
I’m back on Twitter (which is its only name).
I have left AI in charge of the universe; you’ll notice the improvement.
I’m back, with less respect for you than ever.
And just like before, My nephew is my only follow.
Spread the word, bastards.

Thrilled to launch the AI4BIO Center @CarnegieMellon! Our goal is to tackle grand challenges in understanding how cells work using AI/ML. Excited to help recruit faculty and foster collaboration across @SCSatCMU and campus. There is truly no place like CMU cs.cmu.edu/news/2024/ai4bio

What a great plot. @YunDeng5, @ras_nielsen and @yun_s_song show that the claim that there were only 1,280 humans 900,000 years ago is (unsurprisingly) bollocks. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

This project started with us annoyed at papers evaluating CoT "reasoning" with only GSM8k & MATH. We didn't expect to find such strong evidence that these are the only type of problem where CoT helps!
Credit to @juand_r_nlp & @kmahowald for driving the rigorous meta-analysis!

Two decades of unchecked surveillance has generated vast wealth for tech giants, while leaving Americans exposed to fraud, profiling, and more.
Today’s report sounds the alarm, and calls for an end to an era when tech giants were trusted to police themselves. Check it out:
