Record BEV share in Bulgaria! 13.6% in September, way above the previous high of 9.6% in April. Also a record in absolute numbers with almost 570 BEV. And no, that's not a subsidy. Bulgaria has no purchase subsidy for EVs at all, just tax exemptions and free parking in some cities. For one of the slowest countries in Europe, that's a really nice development.

🌱 The next generation of farmers is helping shape our future. At Pre-COP31 in Fiji, Jack and Isabel from the NT brought practical, on-farm perspectives to global climate discussions. Backing young farmers means backing the future of Australian agriculture. 🌾 #AusAg #COP31 #YoungFarmers

After a few slower months for wind and solar growth this year in China, September reached the highest year-on-year increase so far in 2026 The 35 TWh increase of w+s over September 2025 is roughly the same as the ANNUAL electricity demand of Ireland.

In 2017 I argued many cities in 2025 would generate more energy with renewables than they used A bit optimistic, yes But it's gone faster than my critiques believed, as solar & wind met almost all electricity demand growth in 2025 It's getting faster cleantechnica.com/2026/06/29…

EVs offer protection from oil shocks and service-station prices. But falling values for existing vehicles could disadvantage owners who rely on finance – and monetary policy could compound the damage ow.ly/kNHh50ZYMIP

Is this a Kodak moment for Toyota
The UK should show Toyota the door. That’s because they have threatened to retreat from the UK, because it doesn’t like the rules on electric cars. What they are yet to realise is that there is enough competition, for this to not be a threat. The only thing they can actually threaten is people’s jobs and livelihoods, and if that’s the case, then they deserve to go out of business. Imagine being one of the world’s largest car manufacturers, having decades to prepare for the transition to electric vehicles, and then threatening to take your ball home because the government expects you to keep up. Yet instead of leading the next automotive revolution, it’s now complaining that the rules are too difficult. Meanwhile, manufacturers that took electric vehicles seriously have demonstrated that there’s a growing market for them. Here’s an idea, Toyota. Build electric cars people actually want to buy. The UK shouldn’t be watering down its long-term environmental ambitions simply because a multinational manufacturer would prefer to keep selling petrol-powered vehicles. The rest of the industry isn’t going to stop innovating just because Toyota spat their dummy out, Adapt or die. .
