My mom died last week. She was my biggest fan and the light of my life.
She was a staunch believer in the power of news. So much so that we included this in her obit:
“In lieu of monetary contributions, we ask that you hug your loved ones and subscribe to a local newspaper.”

NEW: 2 yrs ago, I set out to learn everything about Heather Mayer, a popular figure in the local BDSM scene whose death was never solved. The reporting took me and @reneejon across the country chasing allegations of a serial abuser in the BDSM community. Read the investigation:
Police called Heather Mayer's hanging death a suicide, but her mother believed there was more to it. As she set out to find the truth, more women came forward with allegations of assault in the Twin Cities bondage community. startribune.com/heather-maye…

This was so cool today at the ILPC Spring Convention. A student journalist sketched me while I was teaching, and asked me to add my signature.
Also, I feel like I’m in good company next to @ProfScottWinter.

If Sheriff Arnott and @GreeneCountySO are confident their actions against homeless camps are justified, they should be willing to answer questions from @JRehwaldSGF - she gave them every opportunity before writing this story
Who set fire to a Springfield homeless camp? Rumors are circulating that the fires were set by Greene County Sheriff’s deputies. That cannot be confirmed because Sheriff Jim Arnott isn't talking. Here's what @JRehwaldSGF has learned so far.
