Folks, I’m a fifth generation Oregonian. My people worked this dirt, built communities, and raised families here when this place still felt like Oregon. Not the boarded up, tax soaked, crime riddled experiment it’s become under one party Democratic rule. Look around. Downtown Portland looks like a war zone some days. Businesses closed. Families packing U Hauls and heading for Idaho, Texas, anywhere that still values work, safety, and common sense. Crime that used to be unthinkable is just “Tuesday.” Energy bills that make you wince. Housing so expensive regular Oregonians can’t buy a starter home. Schools that prioritize ideology over reading and math. And a governor’s office that keeps telling us everything’s fine while the numbers scream otherwise. Tina Kotek and the progressive machine in Salem have had their shot. Decades of it. They’ve raised taxes, piled on regulations, protected sanctuary policies that handcuff local law enforcement, and treated fossil fuels and private enterprise like the enemy. The result? People are leaving. Opportunity is drying up. And the same crowd that created the mess keeps asking for more time and more of your money. Christine Drazan is different. She’s already been in the fight. She knows the legislature from the inside. She talks about lowering the cost of living, making Oregon open for business again, building homes people can actually afford, and breaking the cycle of failure that’s driven so many of our neighbors out. She doesn’t pretend that more government, more mandates, and more excuses will magically fix what government already broke. In this day and age, Oregon doesn’t need another round of the same failed progressive playbook. We need someone who will push back on the excesses, demand accountability, and put working Oregonians first instead of the activist class and the special interests that have run this state into the ground. Republicans aren’t perfect. No party is. But right now they’re the only ones offering a real alternative to the one party dominance that has delivered higher costs, more crime, and less opportunity.
