The most exciting part of @PropherStudy is the use of novel technology to collect #PROMS. We are going to be working with the @TwistleApp to deliver the questionnaires direct to the patient’s mobile phone!

We are putting #patients at the heart of @PropherStudy. Not only do we have #PROMS as a primary outcome, but the study is being jointly led by patient @littlemissileo who has had six #parastomalhernia repairs herself!

PROPHER is also using the Measure Yourself Medical Outcomes Profile (MYMOP) which allows #patients to choose the outcomes that matter to them at the start of their treatment. We believe this is the first time a #colorectalsurgery study has used MYMOP.

#PROPHER is the first #parastomalhernia study to have #PROMS as primary outcome measure. Who better to ask if their treatment has been successful than the patient? The #PROMS include #QualityOfLife, PSH specific symptoms, and decisional regret.

Well, if you only look at the repair then you are only looking at the penguin on top of the iceberg. We want to know what happens to all #patients with a symptomatic #parastomalhernia.
