Abi Explains How Taking 4 Weeks Off Improved Her Trading
Abi:
"So I took a couple weeks off because I just mentally sanity-wise needed it, I was streaming with Erkan actually."
"I felt like I needed to take some time and then we paused stream for a bit I took like 2 or 3 weeks off and then First Candle became a thing and I was like "Okay like I need to take time to set up the stream." So I didn't trade or look at the charts for 3 or 4 weeks."
Clay:
"Nice and- how was that?"
Abi:
"I think the urgency to get a move had already left me when I stopped looking at the charts and then getting into First Candle, I didn't come in feeling that way. I was just targeting the bigger moves and I was like "Okay as long as I don't hit my daily loss I'm good." And I'm still learning sizing so I was doing small sizing and then when you see that your P&L like you know is $200 it's just really just trading small size and waiting for the bigger moves to play out."
The Story Of Why Clay Founded Top One
"I remember when FTMO came out and that was like in 2020, I think something like that, a little bit before that. So really like online prop trading the way it is you know I was there for like the start and seeing it evolve."
"You know eventually in 2023 after having some payouts denied and stuff like that happen with some other companies with myself and my business partner Matt, he was actually in my coaching group and I was like you know super cool guy very successful and successful in business. I was like "Maybe I can pitch this idea to to him." He'd got some payouts denied and I was like "Dude we can do this better." And I said that like jokingly and I was like "Wait a second maybe I can do it better." So that's kinda how it all started."
Dan Cooke on Discipline as a Trader
"Before I got into trading I thought that I was a very disciplined person."
"You ask me before I started trading "Are you disciplined?" I go "Yeah I am." And then I got into trading and suddenly in my first couple years of trading I realized I am nowhere near as disciplined as I bigged myself up to be, at all! Nowhere close."
"That's where you have to, as a person you have to look in the mirror and go "You are not what you think you are mate." And then you have to work on it day by day, the little actions, the little things that you need to do to be disciplined."
Dan Cooke Explains Why Trading Is Simple Until Emotions Get Involved.
"Trading is pretty damn simple when you come down to it. You know you could ask anyone click a button on a chart, buy or sell and they can make money. It's crazy, you could ask someone to come in right now just click a button and they could make money, no idea what they're doing. You know trading can be simple if you've got like clear rules, clear edge, clear discipline and you just follow that religiously to the point every single trade."
"You can make trading super, super simple for yourself 'cause you've got a clear simple strategy and you're gonna follow that. But is it easy to do that? No."
"Say you've had 2 days where you haven't taken a trade, the itch is there "I gotta trade" You've taken 2 losses in a row "I've gotta trade today, I've gotta get the money back" And that's where the simplicity just gets eroded away doesn't it? Because of quite frankly the emotions that come with it."
Dan Cooke Explains How He Uses VWAP and Initial Balance to Find Entries.
"With this one here this is exactly how I would use VWAP. So I just keep VWAP very very simple for me. If we're above it I wanna be long, If we're below it I wanna be short."
"But obviously I'm using the levels in the IB to sort of help me out, so this is on a 5 minute timeframe and for me here I'm just looking at where price is around about when the IB sets. The IB sets around about 10:30. So 10:30 is around about here, so I'm looking, first of all to be above it if I'm gonna go long. I'm looking for an entry either here or here mostly at the IB 25 around about when the IB sets. And so I'm looking for a limit order to come to that level and I'm just looking for a little pop higher for the IB to be filled."
TMade Alex Explains Why Traders Need to Recognize Range-Bound Markets
"I also think it's important for traders to know when the market is kind of range-bound and more tricky. Like today I kind of knew it because I could tell by the profile and I could tell how ES and NQ were not moving close to those call and put walls which is those market maker level areas that I look for."
"So look like here was the put wall that I was looking for us to bounce off of. We barely made it there. We did not reject off 0 gamma, we actually ran through it right and now we are literally pulling back towards 0 gamma on NQ and, ES is starting to hold 0 gamma."
"So if ES can hold 0 gamma here and actually not melt and hold it then I can start seeing ES as supporting 0 gamma. That should create support for NQ and then help hopefully take NQ up to that call wall at 28917."
"But why does it get tricky? Because ES already tempted that call wall once and failed. So is this just a lower high here? So I'm just thinking about all of these things and trying to understand what are the market makers doing? Right now they're holding price between 7665 and 7635 or on NQ between 29000-28500 which is a pretty huge range which is why it's kind of difficult to trade.
TMade Alex's Breakfast Box Trading Strategy 👀
"For anybody that's asking what the hell I'm doing this box is called the breakfast box. If you have anything to do with how I trade, I trade the breakfast box, I trade the lunch box and I trade the sushi box!"
"It's basically an hourly box that I'm looking for specific candle behaviors using order flow, volume profile, whatever it is that I can add as confluence. I'm using that to try to get into these trades."
How TMade Alex Trades Propr
"Yeah so this is how I trade propr. This is how I trade. When I'm trading propr or when I'm trading whatever company I'm trading that's perps, what I do is I wait for markets to touch a call wall or a put wall I wait to see what the reaction is and then I trade it back towards the 0 gamma or the call wall."
"So that's how I trade it and I trade smaller size than futures because I'm just gonna hold the trade and let it rotate. Because if market makers are going to get involved in this area, and it doesn't have to be perfectly right. Like you can see here the put wall we lost it for a little bit, there it regained it, held it as support and then it left you know.
"So like that's how I trade perpetuals It's more of like a rotation where NQ I might just scalp it."
How Leo Made $1,000–$2,000 a Day 📈
Abi:
"Am I correct to say you had like a thing going on where you wanted to make like $1,000 a day or something of that nature?"
Leo:
"Yeah, so I mean my continuation model most of the time I just target a strict 1.5R. So it depends on capital I'm trading, but a lot of the times I'll do between $250-$500 of risk to make between 750 to 1,000."
"Over the summer, I had a streak where I was doing about 3 to 4 months of about 1,000 to 2,000 a day."
