The folks at Christianity Today are in full force today, including @bonniekristian, trying to convince folks that CT is a centrist mag. Yet I'm old enough to remember when in 2020 they accused white Christians of being inherent racists who were committing acts of spiritual violence against black people by voting GOP, below: Or how in 2023, @megbasham revealed how between 2015 and 2022, ‘Christianity Today’ staffers donated Exclusively to Democrats? But yeah- super centrist 🙄 archive.ph/tqmYh#selection-7…

During a conference on Love, Sex & Dating, pastor Christopher Mckaskle can't read the scripture "let her breasts be your satisfaction" without laughing, in what seems like a truly awful time.

Skillet's Jon Cooper told a reporter in a recent interview: "I just found out another iconic musician became a Christian yesterday. I don’t know if we were allowed to say it or not, so I won’t say his name, but I was lit up yesterday." Awesome. 👏 👏👏 churchleaders.com/news/22242…

Christianity Today needs to be less like Wheaton and more like TikTok. " Interesting article about the turmoil at Christianity Today, and their inability to understand why people think they are progressive and woke. archive.ph/P7p6V

'Pastor' Vicky explains that the notion that Jesus died for our sins "is a line that the church has used for hundreds of years that does not really make sense to me." Instead, she says he died for "challenging the status quo" by calling for folks to be more loving."

Pastor condemns women who wear shirt sleeves above their elbows, saying that doing so is compromise and a slippery slope that leads...checks note... to capped sleeves. He also condemns wedding rings and women wearing leggings, makeup, and all other jewelry.

Should the contributors and subscribers to G3 (and perhaps its now-former pastor-theologians) be told where these liquidation proceeds are going?

ICYMI: Debbie Causey, a gay-affirming 'pastor' at Andy Stanley's North Point church, says she prays that other leaders could have gay kids that come out, because having an LGBTQ+ kid is the fastest way to become gay affirming.

A 🧵 about a recent interview with Carl and Laura Lentz to promote their new book 'Overcome Infidelity.' When asked about his time at Hillsong NY, Carl calls that church 'the most beautiful thing in their life' which produced 'a real revival' and where God moved, and that there won't be anything like it again. In fact, whenever he talks about it, it's always as some glowing thing that was going great until his adultery messed it up. Yet that's not how Hillsong head Brian Houston described it, nor how later revelations revealed it to be. The 51-page barn-burner of a report commissioned by Hillsong titled "Internal Investigation Report Regarding Carl Lentz and Other Matters" explains that: "It was not uncommon for volunteers and staff who had frequent interaction with Carl Lentz to report that such interaction had ‘caused’ them to suffer from mental illness."

Of course, this doesn't even touch on all the allegations of financial impropriety, where pastors and leaders were spending money like drunken sailors (a culture we now know was endemic to many Hillsong churches) At Hillsong NY, pastors and leaders were given PEX cards with tens of thousands of dollars on them to spend on their leisure, with no reconciliation accounting needing to be done for how the money was spent. Purchases include $1100 per night AirBnB, renting $6000/month apartments, unlocked iPhones, ATV’s, weekly manicures, spending $600-700 on single meals, buying wine and booze that costs hundreds of dollars per bottle, and buying designer clothing and gifts for celebrities visiting the church.

This was the church at Hillsong NY, disavowed and apologized by the mothership, which Lentz paints as a picture of health and vitality under his leadership. If he can't be honest about the mess he made there, it doesn't bode well for anything else he might say.

Here is an INDISPUTABLE FACT about Andy Stanley's North Point Church. They have, and have had multiple pastors and prominent leaders on staff who are openly gay-affirming to the point of leading activist organizations dedicated to promoting and promulgating pro-LGBTQ ideology, and they have done nothing about it. They've held conferences where guest speakers have gotten up and told everyone that being gay is not a sin, that gender-affirming care for children is good, and that if their transgender son needs top surgery as to not kill themselves, they should support it. They've even had a pastor say they wish more leaders at North Point church had gay children, so that the church would become more affirming, because having a LGBTQ child is the fastest way to changing one's ideology. It was a dumpster fire under Andy Stanley, and there's no reason to think it'll get better under Joel Thomas

This is Debbie Causey, a long-time pastor at Andy Stanley's North Point church and director of their Care network of ministries. Up until recently she was a board member at Renovus, a pro-LGBTQ+ activist and advocacy group led by many leaders within North Point. She's sitting with Amy Blakeslee, who for years was the Director of 'Parent Connect' at North Point, an org she started. Here's how she described its origins in her bio for a Queer conference she was speaking at: "Hello! My name is Amy. I identify as gay, my pronouns are she/her, and I’m the proud parent of three adult kids, one of whom also identifies as gay. Over the past ten years I had the privilege of meeting with hundreds of parents of LGBTQ+ children through my position on the Care staff at North Point Community Church. As more and more parents reached out to the church for support, I began meeting with them in their homes. Parent Connect was birthed, one of the first church-based ministries in the nation created specifically for Christian parents of LGBTQ+ kids."
