Time for another book review from the library.
The title today is: Modern Minuteman by @spikesguides
(Providing for the Common Defense)
Out of the gate I want to say I really like this book. It is exceptionally well done for a self published title. Spike is a great account to follow and generous to enough to take the time to write articles that he posts often on his X account. Definitely a great account to follow on this app.
On to the review:
If you abide by the ethos of "you are your own first responder" and "no one is coming to save you" this book will be right up your alley.
Who this book is for; simply the prepared citizen responder who takes the security of family, friends, and providence seriously.
TL;DR- if you train with the homies get this book. This is written for a non-technical audience without prior military background. The writing is straightforward and easy to understand.
(The longer review)
The more in-depth context is that this book provides the who, what, where, when, why, and how of all things at a level beyond baseline for the individual seeking to elevate their personal readiness to that of a Modern Minuteman.
Introduction. Section 1 - The book begins with a solid disclaimer statement on all things legal, the seriousness of this subject, and then jumps into the introduction of the subject and the history of the Minuteman in America. (the WHO & WHY foundation)
Section 2 - The next section "Prerequisites", covers Basics of Fitness, OODA Loop, Situational Awareness, and Combat Medicine. Books have been written in great detail on these individual subjects but this section gives a great intro to each of these topics to get the reader pointed in the right direction on good footing.
Section 3. Combat Fundamentals - This section begins to set the stage of the meat of the book. Here you get into weapons, marksmanship, buddy teams, fire teams, squads, team leadership, and training methods. The beauty of this section is each topic generally has an accompanying set of physical drills that build topic by topic in this section. If you LARP'd these drills with a group of buddies a few times a month, you would improve your personal (and small team) proficiency to a level above 90 percent of the US civilian population in a relatively short period of time. It really comes down to repeat rehearsal of basic drills.
Section 4. Small Unit Tactics - This section takes the squad element to the next level of function and builds upon Section 3 in the book. This section covers kit planning, movement and ops (including patrols, observation posts, patrol bases, & recon), immediate actions (including react to contact & breaking contact), support by fire (the fun topics of ambushes, raids, and harassment ops), area control and defense (checkpoints, area denial, perimeter defense, & combat outposts), environments and specialized skills (drones, specialized threats, night ops, fundamentals of urban warfare, and much more).
Section 5. Support & Sustainment - This section covers considerations around civilian vehicle implementation, logistics, and field telephones.
The book closes out with some excellent case studies including: Hill 3234, Grozny, Mumbai attacks, and an essay on historic guerillas.
In closing this is an excellent book. It take the very complex topic of "the Modern Minuteman" and distills that subject down to simple terms that can be understood, trained and implemented by the common prepared citizen. If you are looking for a starting point on this subject this book is solid. Buy it, read it, practice the basics and then take that knowledge and refine it with training from a real, professional instructor.
At the time of this post the book is $19.99 on Amazon. For the price, the book is absolutely packed with quality information that is very easy to read and understand. It's a fantastic book and recently published in January of this year (2026). 10/10 highly recommend! A fine addition to the library. You can get the book here: amzn.to/4BaPD1Y

Quick note on the Balaclavas and just our expansion in general.
1. We run a no debt business
2. We don’t believe in pre-orders
3. We will only ever attach our names to extremely well tested and high end products that are 100% Made in USA
4. We dont take donations or 3rd party investments, it’s very important for us that we succeed based solely on our product under our own direction
These things combined mean we are very very slow to roll out new things. If we make something we are committed to it as it’s our $, time and reputation on the line. We don’t ever pass that risk off to you.
This building purchase and all the new equipment has really run us down to the wire. It’s a massive investment for us and it’s going to take a little bit to re-build our war chest and safety nets.
We have a TX manufacturer lined up for the masks, it’s just a very large singular investment for an unknown quantity for us and will be competing against things like hoodies, sweatpants, blankets right off the bat that we already know and love.
I promise they are coming I just cant say exactly when. October is going to be a very slow month for us with everything stopped but if the re-opening crushes it and we have a few big months it could come sooner than anticipated.
As always we will do our best to keep you guys updated on where we’re at and any updates as things change/progress.
Thank you,
Roy

If you have an electric toothbrush, it vibrates your entire skull with a force many *thousand* times greater than the sum of every single sound you heard during the entire day..!
Wouldn't it be nice, if this vibration wasn't at some random frequency in the 200-400 Hz range?
Imagine if your toothbrush vibrated at the healing frequency 528 Hz, with its significant health benefits, like immediately lowering cortisol, increasing oxytocin, improving mood, decreasing pain as well as painkillers, and increasing testosterone?
Well, I designed a toothbrush that does exactly that!
Not only 528 Hz, which is a little high for *optimal* cleaning efficiency; you can actually select from a range of 30+ different frequencies!
You can listen to all the frequencies right now, just follow the link in the next tweet, I made a virtual toothbrush you can play around with!
Now, this is going to work kind of like a Kickstarter. If not enough people buy, there won't be a toothbrush, and I will refund everyone. But that's not going to happen, this will be a smashing success! I tweeted about my plan to do this last summer, and I got extremely positive response.
But then something happened, something fantastic - I found a way to charge water with electricity with miraculous health results, so I put the toothbrush project on the shelf, and dedicated myself to water engineering, but now the time is right for the toothbrush.
Any and all proceeds will go toward accelerating my water research (and feeding my family). If you like this, or me, or the water, please RT and spread the word!

I recently stumbled on a post by Tyler @Blackpinetoolco posting some blades he made. Rolled the dice and asked him to make me one of his Tanto designs with carbon fiber grips. I think he nailed it. Dude has serious talent and the wait was not long at all. This thing is a work of death art. Well done bro!

I know I'm just a lil account on X but I appreciate every like share sale. Growing up my mom always said her dreams stopped when she had littles. I'm determined to raise littles with a story you can keep going. You can just do things 🥹 also learn to defend yourself while you're at it 🔫 you guys are intrinsic in that. So THANK YOU
