Who is Building This on Blast? Gm everyone - following on from The Vision yesterday, we’re going to be putting out a series of posts about interesting and exciting use cases we want to see on Blast for consumer crypto products. Hopefully these are already being built and will lead to teams reaching out to help get visibility - the future of Blast relies on real teams building real products that people want to use for something more than farming. We want to use the platform to help you guys identify these interesting products that will be 1) fun to use and 2) have some potential upside (either via skills contests, gamble mechanics, or otherwise) Today’s focus - Prediction Markets Take a look at the @Polymarket stats on OI for the presidential election - that’s over $60m USD locked in those betting contracts at the moment. If all parked in USDB, that single market contract could be generating over $15k/day. As it stands currently, it isn’t generating any yield. Wasted capital efficiency. Leveraging native yield is something teams need to be aggressively investigating - it’s how you create an edge and +EV environment for your users. It also helps bootstrap your runway such that you don’t have to raise as much (giving away precious equity or token allocation). We believe Blast is a perfect place to see real prediction markets flourish - people love social betting… In that vein, we’ve already had a couple projects reach out on this topic and are in the process of scheduling calls. Hopeful to find some teams that have smart plans in place to bring these products to life in the market. If you’re building this - reach out. It’s time to bring real products to the market and encourage second order speculation *using* crypto-powered applications rather than just speculating on crypto itself. Much more sustainable future
