This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for 🔥
Meta just announced its new VR Glasses. Basically an Apple Vision Pro-like experience, but MUCH smaller and lighter.
• Only 100g
• Micro-OLED displays
• Snapdragon Reality Elite
• Eye + hand tracking
• External compute/battery puck
• $1,299
This is the direction I want VR to go. Smaller, lighter, more comfortable, while keeping the full spatial computing experience.
Launching Spring 2027. I’m getting these 100% 🙌

Sorry I’ve been quiet this week
Was Locked In, trying to put together something I think is pretty neat 😇

BTW, if the XBOX division is scrounging for loose change under the sofa cushions, I’m still willing to put up a $1M guarantee to allow @TeamBeefVR to commercialize the legacy open source games on VR.

Think of XR glasses as a virtual floating TV and VR headsets as a virtual environment (that may or may not contain one or many TVs).
So Steam Frame has a dedicated 2.4Ghz connection for the controllers as well as dual radios for concurrent 5Ghz Wi-Fi (internet access) and 6Ghz VR Streaming. Well done, @valvesoftware.
Day one with the Neural Band + Meta Ray-Ban Display.
At GameStop mid-conversation holding a box I got a call. Saw it in the display, swiped, tapped my fingers to ignore it. The guy didn’t even notice.
I’m calling it now, ROG Xbox Ally X and Viture Luma Ultra are gonna get more use than my desktop and ultrawide.
Good news, I was able to order 2 Meta Ray-Ban Display at my demo-- one for a buddy and one for me. Bad news, my prescription pair isn’t expected until November 20th.
Bigscreen Beyond 2e and Viture Luma Ultra arrived this week. There’s never been a better time to be my face. AMA
So... I'm an engineer and have worked in tech for over 12 years. I just used Claude Sonnet 4 in VSCode for the first time today and I'm blown away. I definitely need more time with it to form an opinion but wow.
Seems like I’ll have to code review changes like I would with an another engineer or maybe even a more junior one, but this is already pretty useful. I imagine I’ll use it a bunch to implement features or fix annoying bugs I wouldn’t prioritize or build myself but would def code review.
