The day before #NewBikeDay is always a busy one! 🚲 Today at Mark Shope Secondary School, preparations are in full swing, from contract signing and learner training to packing accessories and delivering bicycles. Tomorrow, 143 Grade 11 learners will receive their new bicycles, made possible through the generous support of @AbsaSouthAfrica, alongside our valued community champion, @Kaross_fndn. 💛 Following tomorrow’s distribution, we will have distributed 620 Absa-funded bicycles in 2026, bringing the total number of bicycles funded by @Absa since 2019 to an incredible 7,397. 🚲 A bicycle can change the journey to school and so much more. 59 Grade 11 learners at Motsheudi Secondary School received bicycles with the support of @RSOnlineSA, through the Inqolobane Investment Trust. For these learners, a bicycle means more than simply getting from A to B. It means less time spent walking, easier access to school, greater independence and more time to focus on their education. 1,000 bicycles. Four schools. One community. A very special milestone in Ga-Sekgopo, Limpopo. 🚲💛 Together with @Absa, our community champion @ZZ2Farming, and the donors who have invested alongside us in Ga-Sekgopo, Qhubeka has now reached 1,000 bicycles distributed to learners across the community’s four secondary schools. And fittingly, the 1,000th bicycle was funded by Absa. Absa’s continued investment in Qhubeka’s Scholar Mobility programme is helping remove distance as a barrier to education — enabling learners to get to school more reliably, attend more regularly and spend more time learning. The 1,000th bicycle is more than a milestone. It represents what sustained partnership can achieve when business, community and schools work together around a common purpose. One thousand bicycles. One thousand journeys to school. One thousand opportunities to build a brighter future. Our sincere thanks to @AbsaSouthAfrica for funding this landmark 1,000th bicycle, to ZZ2 for championing the programme in Ga-Sekgopo, and to every donor, principal, teacher, learner and community member who has helped us reach this remarkable milestone.
