2026 Becomes the Year of Quantum Security 🔐 YQS2026 2026 is being framed as the Year of Quantum Security: #YQS2026 After a year in which quantum moved decisively into the mainstream with International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, the next phase is already taking shape. The focus is shifting from awareness to execution, and security is emerging as the defining challenge. An outlook on the year ahead explores how security for quantum and security from quantum will shape how quantum technologies are deployed, protected, and trusted globally. The Year of Quantum Security officially launches January 12th in Washington, D.C., with participation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), alongside industry leaders and ecosystem partners. Registration is still open for those who want to be part of the opening conversation. Read the article. Join the launch. Be part of the year that sets the security agenda for the quantum era. Gold nanoclusters could solve quantum’s problem of stability and scalability. But there’s more Gold-based qubits are tunable. Each atomically precise gold nanocluster, for example, 25 atoms, 102 atoms, 144 atoms, and many others, acts like its own 'super atom', with spin and optical properties set by its structure. The shell of ligand molecules around the gold core is a further tuning dial: changing the ligand took spin polarisation from 7% to nearly 40%, and stiffening that shell is how the team aims to extend coherence time. No other qubit platform offers that kind of built-in flexibility, letting you select the material for the application: sensing, communication, computation. One base material. Multiple tunable pathways. An entirely new materials platform. @DeltaGoldTech #QuantumComputing #QuantumMaterials #DeepTech

Some magical progress towards "magic state" in quantum! Our @GoogleQuantumAI team has demonstrated "magic state cultivation" on physical hardware for the first time. The result is a 40x error reduction on our Willow processor vs. previous methods, achieving a state-of-the-art 99.99% logical fidelity. It's another step towards useful, error-corrected quantum computers to help solve the hardest problems. The result is published in Science today, watch the video below to see how it works

What if every qubit material came out identical? Fabricated qubits typically need tuning one by one. Useful quantum computers may need millions. Gold nanoclusters are grown by chemistry: same atoms, same structure every time. That’s the idea behind Delta’s research @penn_state. Paper in the comments.
Quantum computing's hardest problem isn't building a qubit. It's building a million of them that behave the same way. Fabricate a qubit on a chip, and no two are quite alike. Tiny variations in manufacturing become tiny variations in performance. That's a scaling problem. Gold nanoclusters solve this differently: they're not fabricated, they're grown by chemistry. Every nanocluster comes out molecularly identical to the last. Same atom count, same structure, same properties. It's the difference between a device you can calibrate once and trust, and one you have to re-calibrate every time. @DeltaGoldTech #QuantumComputing #QuantumMaterials #DeepTech
