The Central Band of the #RoyalAirForce supported the Ceremonial Opening of the Seventh Senedd, with Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla in attendance.
It’s always a pleasure to be on parade in Wales, and an honour to perform at this event.

Did you spot the #Carnyx?
Standing over 2m tall, and topped with an animal's head, the Carnyx was an ancient Celtic war horn used more than 2,000 years ago to rally warriors and project sound across the battlefield.

Today, this remarkable instrument is rarely seen, making it a truly unique addition to any performance. This summer our musicians opened the @EdinburghTattoo with 'The Call' performed on the Carnyx, echoing the instrument's original purpose of calling people to gather.
If you weren’t able to attend this year’s Tattoo in person or if you didn’t manage to catch the shows first broadcast on the BBC, then you can watch the show at your convenience on @BBCiPlayer:

With thanks to John Kenny, Artistic Director of Carnyx & Co who came along to rehearsals to give some hints and tips to our musicians!
