I am really proud of the work we’ve done in reporting on the different communities of Greater Manchester. This is their paper too.

Another tent has been erected along Edmonton Road. I count three tents at the scene now.

A second tent has been put up along Staplehurst Road. New forensics officers recently arrived at the scene.

Some more reaction to today’s events. “I’ve been here 30 years and for the most part this is a quiet area, this has come as a bit of a shock,” a woman told me.
@MENnewsdesk
News of the woman’s death is starting to spread with locals understandably shocked.
One person described the incident as “heavy” while another simply said “that poor woman.”
@MENnewsdesk
Forensics seem to be carrying bags of evidence from Staplehurst Lane. GMP has confirmed the tragic death of a woman in her 20s.
The scenes on Edmonton Road and Briscoe Lane remain.

This is what it’s like at the moment. Police are also working on the areas around Staplehurst Road.
I’ve spoken to a resident who says she heard “screams” and a car crash in the early hours of the morning.

We’re now on Staplehurst Road where a tent has been erected.
This is just around the corner from the scenes on Briscoe Lane and Edmonton Road.
@MENnewsdesk
This is what it’s like on Briscoe Lane. Probably the biggest cordon at the scene. The area’s teeming with forensics.

Good morning, I’m in Newton Heath where there is a massive police scene after an incident in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Another resident told me they’ve been kept in the dark for much of the police investigation on their doorstep. “Police haven’t come round once yet, it’s very worrying,” they said.
