If they decide that one African writer is writing programmatically, you're not special. You cannot outwork that. Now is not the time for you to be silent, thinking you're too brilliant—too fluid—to resist.
Congratulations to the winners!
I'm pleased and proud to announce that Ameen Animashaun (Nigeria) and Denoo Edinam Yawo (Ghana) have won the inaugural $2000 Arole Agarau Prize.
So grateful to my team for making this first year a success.

Dear Friends,
I'm glad to share that my packet of poems, under the title 'Baggage of Assorted Wishes', has been shortlisted for the inaugural Arole Agarawu African Poetry Prize. AlhamduliLlah for the grace, and thanks for your love and support. I'm grateful.
I attended the three-day writing workshop organised by @YourWriteEdu. It was a beautiful experience to listen to @pamilerinjacob, @IAyandele and @bardmus discuss poetry (writing) and publishing. The sessions were quite enlightening. Thanks to the tutors and @YourWriteEdu.
So, I made the longlist for the inaugural Arole Agarawu Poetry Prize. AlhamduliLlah for the grace.
Best wishes to all the longlisted poets.

My full-length poetry collection, "The Origin of Wounds" will be out soon. But yeah, it's always good to return to poems that made it into the collection. Today, I reshare these poems published in Transition Magazine in 2022, guest edited by Prof. Wole Soyinka.
