Dr @SachaLMoore discusses one of the most urgent issues facing the #NHS in Wales – the workforce crisis.
81% of doctors in Wales say that NHS staffing is inadequate with 53% reporting lack of access to necessary equipment or services.
This must change rcp.ac.uk/policy-and-campaig…
Developed with senior NHS Wales doctors, our new manifesto sets out three key priorities for the next Welsh government, we are calling for:
🟢a long-term NHS workforce plan to recruit, retain and support doctors across Wales
🟢cross-government action on prevention and health inequalities, including bold measures to tackle poverty, obesity, tobacco and clean air
🟢radical transformation of social care, with a fully costed plan to address capacity, delays and eliminate corridor care.
Without urgent action, pressures on #NHS staff and services will rise, undermining the ability of physicians to deliver safe and effective care across Wales.

Air pollution is a major threat to health including asthma, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
It has improved over several decades but we can reduce it, and the diseases it causes, significantly.
This Royal College of Physicians report lays out the harms and things we can do.
Air pollution must be recognised as a public health issue.
For #CleanAirDay we are publishing our new report 'A breath of fresh air', which highlights the growing evidence about the increased range of health impacts linked to air pollution. With impacts on both mortality and healthy life expectancy, the effects of toxic air on individuals, society, the economy and the #NHS are huge.

🔵identifying pathways towards the delivery of the World Health Organization’s 2021 global air quality guidelines on air pollution levels
