Middle school teacher locks Hispanic boy in closet—for speaking Spanish to his friend.
"We are in the U.S. we speak only English, not Spanish!" teacher yelled.
Grabbed boy by his arm and threw him in closet—while other students laughed.
He started crying and trying to get out.
"This isn’t the first time a lot of parents were told that their kid can't speak Spanish in class," said one mother.
Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School has about 30% Hispanic student enrollment.
School officials confirmed that yes—locking the child in the closet did happen—but refuse to publicly name the teacher.
Incident occurred in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Everybody is talking about the record turnout we’re seeing nationwide, and there are a lot of things contributing to it. But I think there’s an important distinction here that people are missing.
This isn’t just about policies that failed despite good intentions. For many voters, it’s about feeling deliberately exploited by people in power. It’s about what they see as a conscious and intentional abuse of authority.
These voters aren’t necessarily saying, “I want to try something new.”
They’re saying, “Enough. This is not going to continue on my watch.”
Those are two VERY different messages. And we need to understand the difference.
