Center Moriches Athletics

What an outstanding job by Center Moriches AD Jeremy Thode (@RDEVILATHLETICS) for organizing the @SectXISuffolk Student-Athlete Leadership Conference. It was an impactful agenda for 500-plus student-athletes and 100-plus admins and coaches. Bravo, Jeremy! Speaking on behalf of the @SuffolkHOF, it was my pleasure to open up the day with a talk about the importance of school pride and community engagement. True to my core, I spoke about believing in things that are bigger than yourself and being active servant leaders in the community. Perhaps the most meaningful part of my day was when a Sachem North student sought me out and introduced himself. If we impacted one kid today, great ... but I know hundreds of students in that room will leave legacies one day. So great to see Suffolk Sports Hall of Famers Marty Lyons (@martylyonsfdn) and @JoeSpallina, plus Sachem alum and Miami pitcher Rafe Schlesinger, who were all featured speakers today. Also great to meet @JoeySpallina22, a name you'll see for a long time in the game of lacrosse. Suffolk County and Long Island are special. I'm just doing my part to lead by example, provide context through action, and inspire the next generation. We did that today.
