Sgt. Aaron Turner and Sgt. Michael Boron received the Soldier’s Medal, the Army’s highest award for heroism outside combat, for their courageous actions to protect fellow Soldiers during the Aug. 6, 2025, Fort Stewart shooting.
Acting Secretary of the Army Adam Telle and Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Christopher LaNeve presented the awards, recognizing their selfless service, decisive action and commitment to protecting their teammates.

The governor-elect of Texas, Gina Hinojosa, has explicitly said that all currently permitted datacenters in Texas will be allowed to finish construction. This essentially covers all of the 2027 and likely well into 2028.
She is going to pass laws that ensure that all *newly* permitted datacenters going forward for delivery in 2028/2029 will pay taxes, commit to no increase in power prices for consumers, don’t impact water availability for people, be constructed with union labor and give “Texans a seat at the table.”
Sounds reasonable. She doesn’t want to lose a lot of good blue collar jobs and property taxes for small towns in rural Texas.

Sidenote: After watching a bunch of her speeches and interviews, I do think she is a political talent and probably has a future in national politics.

Security video shows Citibank guard John Frayley, a Marine Corps veteran, taking a tactical position in a men's restroom and waiting for the gunman to enter his line of sight. When he does, Frayley opens fire, exchanges shots, and drops him — ending the attack.
The Citibank shooter, Jacob Pearson, 35, entered the cafeteria with 90 rounds of ammunition and one objective: kill anyone in his path.
