Katmai NP used terrestrial laser scanning #lidar to determine the fattest bear during #FatBearWeek. @UNAVCO did something similar in 2013 in Antarctica for a project studying Weddell seals. Two @RIEGL TLS were used to scan & calculate volume of the seals: unavco.org/highlights/2014/a…
