Today at the Royal Marines School of Music, we paused to remember the 11 Royal Marines musicians who lost their lives in the Deal bombing on 22 September 1989. We will remember them.

Fantastic workshop today with @manasamitraUK, Lucy Nolan and Duncan Chapman. Inspiring insight into improvisation, exploring different ragas, and the value of fully investing in the creative process. Great to see our trainees embrace every challenge with enthusiasm and openness.

Celebrating 30 years of the RMSoM at HMS Nelson. A fantastic lunchtime concert marking three decades in Portsmouth. All staff and personnel of HMNB-P were invited to attend, with the performance expertly led by instructors from the School. A proud moment for all involved.

ASMM gathered on the parade square for the annual memorial, remembering those of the RMBS who gave their lives in the World Wars and subsequent service. The silver drums and memorial trumpets were honoured through reflection, remembrance and the sounding of the Dedication Fanfare

To culminate a week of Adventurous Training in the Brecon Beacons, RMSoM trainees swapped walking boots for instruments and performed a charity concert supporting Mountain Rescue. Enjoyed by the local community, the event raised funds for a great cause.

The RMSoM are out in the Brecon Beacons for Adventurous Training — building resilience, teamwork and leadership in challenging environments. AT is all about stepping beyond comfort zones, embracing challenge and proving what you’re capable of when pushed that bit further. ⛰️

RMSoM Band in full flow yesterday at Christ’s Hospital School. A superb rehearsal ahead of tomorrow’s joint concert. A combined Parade Band proudly marched CH students and RM ranks to lunch in the grounds — a brilliant display of tradition, precision and teamwork.

The Royal Marines School of Music brought festive spirit to HMS Nelson with carols around the base, lifting morale and sharing the sound of Christmas with personnel and families alike. A brilliant way to celebrate the season! MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅

Huge congratulations to Band Troop 1-2/25 on passing out of CTCRM Phase 1 Training. An outstanding achievement and the start of an exciting journey as they move into Phase 2 training. Expertly supported by RMSoM trainees, who delivered musical accompaniment. BZ to all.

Passing the Baton Today we say farewell to DoMT, Lt Col Steve Green, as he moves into his new role at HQ RMBS. Wishing him the best of luck in his next chapter and welcome Major Tom Crane into the post. In true T/Coy fashion, the send-off featured a DoMT themed squeegee band!

Five RMSoM ranks provided musical accompaniment at the Deal Memorial Service, held where the 11 musicians were serving in 1989. A prestigious and meaningful engagement for the trainees and all those attending.
