People will speculate, theyβll think the worst of you, theyβll judge, assume, gossip and backbite. When told the truth, most wonβt even bother to correct themselves. Such is the state of humankind today. Protect yourself. Stay away from such sinful acts.
13 September β In Loving Memory of My Father, Abdul Rashid
Another year, another 13th of September. This old newspaper cutting is one of the few tangible pieces I have from the day my father left this world in 1991.
I was extremely youngβtoo young to remember much about him or fully understand what it meant to lose a father. As I grew older, however, I began to understand the weight of that absence. Some memories fade with time, but some relationships live beyond memories.
Abu, I may not remember enough moments with you, but I have carried your absence throughout my life. I often wonder what life would have been like if you had been here to see the person I became, the family I built, and the journey I travelled.
Today, 35 years later, I remember you with love, prayers, and a longing that time has never completely taken away.
May Allah Almighty grant my father Abdul Rashid the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, illuminate his grave, and shower His infinite mercy upon him. Ameen.

When you become excessively dependent on someone, the Almighty will detach you from the person just to show you where your strength lies. Remember, we need people but never as much as we need the Almighty.

A day will come when all your problems will be over. The promise of Allah will be fulfilled, and youβll sleep and wake up in peace.
So hold on. Keep trusting Allah. Keep making duβa.

Be mindful when angry. When you react thinking you must hurt those who hurt you, think again. In fact, youβre hurting yourself. Thatβs why itβs always better to calm down first & act rationally When you choose to react immediately, the consequences may be disastrous.

We need love, kindness and care to get through that tough week, the grey skies and storm clouds in life. For the times when things go wrong, when we feel lost, when everyone else appears to be doing well, know that the Almighty hasnβt abandoned us. He knows.

One beautiful pairing of Allahβs Names in the Quran is:
Ω±ΩΩΨΊΩΩΩΩΨ±Ω Ω±ΩΨ΄ΩΩΩΩΩΨ±Ω
Al-Ghafur, Ash-Shakur
The All-Forgiving, the Most Appreciative
One verse where this appears is:
Ψ₯ΩΩΩΩΩΩΫ₯ ΨΊΩΩΩΩΨ±Ω Ψ΄ΩΩΩΩΨ±Ω
βIndeed, He is All-Forgiving, Most Appreciative.β β Surah Fatir 35:30
This pairing is deeply moving because Al-Ghafur tells us that Allah covers and forgives our shortcomings, while Ash-Shakur tells us that He appreciates and rewards even the small good we manage to do. So He does not deal with us only by what we lack. He forgives what is broken, then honors what is sincere.
That means the believer is never reduced to their failures. Allah sees the weakness, but He also sees the effort. He sees the sin, but He also sees the return. He sees the imperfect deed, but if it is sincere, He can magnify it beyond what we imagined. Who else forgives so much and appreciates so little?
Alhamdulillah!

Waiting is not easy. We feel exhausted at times, on the verge of giving up. We may even lower our expectations. But we have to press on because only You know when the time is right. Almighty. Keep our faith firm while waiting, trusting You always.

if you could see what AllΓ€h has written for you, you would stop crying at night. you would stop doubting your future. you would stop wondering if you're going to make it. what's coming is better than what you're praying for. trust the delay. trust the closed doors. trust the heartbreak. trust the loneliness. because behind the scenes, AllΓ€h is writing something for you that you're going to look at one day and say: "this is exactly what i was waiting for."
