(1/2) A 49-year-old Police Sergeant from Honeydew SAPS will appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court today for the alleged rape of a 20-year-old female relative. The officer allegedly started raping the complainant when she was 14-years-old and threatened her not to say a word
(1/3) Two former Police Constables implicated in the murder of Nathaniel Julies were found guilty in the Johannesburg High Court. Caylene Whiteboy and Simon Ndyalvane were convicted for an incident that happened on 26 August 2020 in Eldorado Park.
(1/3) Constable Asandile Hlobo from Delft SAPS, was found guilty on two counts of murder by Bluedowns Magistrates Court. His conviction emanates from an incident that happened on 23 May 2022, when he went to the residence of the deceased in Kraaifointen and shot them.
IPID in partnership with Crime Reporting Boards SA took public education to Silverwater Crossing Mall to engage the public on the mandate of IPID. The public was engaged on the mandate of IPID, and also informed of the channels to use if they want to report cases to IPID.
[1/3] The bail judgment of Garies Police Sergeant, Quinton Cloete (38), implicated in the death of his girlfriend, Maarman Farren (27), was remanded to 22 October 2026, by the Garies Magistrate's Court in the Namaqualand District.
(1/2) Two Gauteng Highway Patrol officers, Constable Korapetse and Constable Phophi were granted bail of R2000 each by Randburg Magistrate's Court. They were arrested on 30 September 2026 for an incident that allegedly happened on 27 February 2026 on Olifantsfontein Road.
(1/5) Two police officers stationed at Limpopo Provimcial Task Team were sentenced to 12 months imprisonment or a fine of R12 000, for assaulting two police officers in January 2024. Sergeants Sekona Kobe (47) and Mhlupheki Vilakazi (54), were sentenced by Nebo Magistrate's Court
(1/5) Two police officers stationed at Zamdela Police Station were sentenced to three months imprisonment, or a fine of R1000 for assault, and a further three months imprisonment, or a fine of R1000 for malicious damage to property.
(1/4) A Kroonstad Police Officer was found guilty of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and sentenced to four months imprisonment or a fine of R1000 by Kroonstad Magistrates Court. Sergeant William Belane was sentenced for an incident that happened on 08/11/2023
(1/3) A former KZN Police Constable, Njabulo Ntombela (46), was sentenced to three years imprisonment for corruption. The sentence was wholly suspended for five years. He was further placed under correctional supervision for three years, in which he will have to do 16 hours
The case against a 50-year-old TMPD officer, Sergeant AN Makwela from Hammanskraal was postponed to 09 October 2026 for a formal bail application. Sergeant Makwela was arrested last week on allegations of assault with inteng to cause grievous bodily harm.
(1/2) The case against nine Bultfontein police officers accused of murder of three family members and a police officer in Phahameng Township on 22/09/2024, was postponed to 23/11/2026 for pre-trial conference as some of them have not yet finalised their legal representation.
