And finally, just want to say a big thank you to all the count team and staff at Adamstown Community Centre, all the candidates (successful and unsuccessful) and their families who chatted and posed for pictures, the party people, our media colleagues and the great tally team.

Most of us covering the election had a student journalist with us for the duration This is my main man @Tom_Healy_, who played an absolute blinder over the course of the weekend. Shot video, gathered news and provided terrific local intel Might end up being my boss some day!

One former Green Party TD will be heading back to Dáil Éireann. Paul Gogarty’s 6,940 votes cannot be overtaken by Eoin Ó Broin with Emer Higgins’s surplus of 667. Final count soon will elect Gogarty and almost certainly Shane Moynihan with him.

Another possible story is that Dublin Mid-West may well elect a second Eoin Ó Broin. Several observers believe he’ll do remarkably well from Gino Kenny’s transfers, possibly propelling him ahead of Paul Gogarty. #dubmidw #dmw #dubmw #ge24

Also worth noting - independent councillor Paul Gogarty is taking transfers all around him. Firmly in the pole position for the fifth seat here and a return to Dáil Éireann very much on the cards for the former Green TD. #dubmw #dubmidw #dmw #ge24

Labour’s Francis Timmons excluded on Count 8. Sinn Féin’s Mark Ward is now within touching distance of retaining his seat, with party sources expecting Timmons’ transfers to put him over the line. #dubmw #dubmidw #dmw #ge24
