As a young designer, attending @MLCConnect was always a bucket list item for me. Last week I had the honor of being one of the keynote speakers for MLC at Ford Field in Detroit! ✅ I can't begin to describe how thankful I am to have been surrounded by such an incredible and passionate design community eager to grow in their crafts. @chrisdavidgfx , @RYDesignLA , and the whole MLC team – thank you for trusting me and giving me an outlet to share my career journey with this group. This is such a great event and I'm so excited for all the designers that get to experience this in the future!

The American baseball player Rube Waddell had a deep affection for puppies, and it became a unique spectacle during games as fans from opposing teams would bring their dogs, holding them up for Waddell's attention. Instead of focusing on the game, he would enthusiastically run over to play with the dogs. His distractions weren't limited to dogs; he also had a long-standing fascination with fire trucks and, on multiple occasions, dashed off the field to chase after them. Rube Waddell's baseball career was marked by unpredictability as he played for several teams. Early in his career, he even famously left a game in the middle to indulge in some fishing. During the offseason, he would disappear for months at a time, leaving people wondering about his whereabouts until it was revealed that he was wrestling alligators in a circus. Waddell's easily distracted nature extended to his fascination with shiny objects that seemed to put him in a trance. Throughout his life, he battled alcoholism, and it's reported that he spent his entire first signing bonus on a drinking binge. Sporting News referred to him as a "sousepaw" due to his alcohol-related issues. His eccentric behavior often led to conflicts with managers and quarrels with irritable teammates.

A little off-topic: Stumbled across this photo I took at a 2012 game my family and I went to at Dodger Stadium: Vin Scully singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch. Not on the air, not on the P.A., just singing to himself because he loved the game.
