*EKEDC IN DESPERATION* ___________ I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter. On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like _"This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop"_. They left. Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue. I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it. I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest. But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you. I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority. We are in interesting times in Nigeria! Raphael Awoseyin 19-Oct-2026

My people una dey muzz me wallahi You're in a supposed democracy where they say you have a voice... But apparently you still have to risk life and limb to protect your votes Asin you go form vigilante group with your fellow voters to protect against violent political thugs high on drugs and with nothing to lose To be clear I have nothing but respect for people who put their money where their mouth is and match the thugs fire for fire...even if I feel the rage should be directed at the system itself Just know you are playing a game that has been rigged from the start.

The 20-20-2020 tragedy exposed the ultimate fraud of Nigerian democracy. If the Lekki Toll Gate massacre had happened under Abacha, it would be etched in history as definitive proof that military dictatorship is evil, and that Abacha is the ultimate despot. The blame would be swift, absolute, and directed straight at the head of state. But today, under the guise of democracy, we are reduced to the hypocrisy of begging for answers to obvious questions. We are left asking: "Who gave the order?" Suddenly, we have completely forgotten the weight and implication of the title Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR). Suddenly, we have forgotten that in a democracy, the citizens are the absolute, unchallengeable owners of the country, and the politicians are merely temporary custodians Under a military regime, every mishap and every death stopped at the desk of the commander. Today, the system is engineered to absolve the president and protect the political class. When everything falls apart, the narrative is twisted to blame the victims instead: "Why were they there?" "Why didn't they run?" — asinine questions to ask citizens shot to death at a peaceful protest by the very soldiers meant to safeguard their lives. After all, dead men tell no tales. Let’s ask ourselves the hard question: How exactly does this democracy profit Nigeria? • Elections are rigged in broad daylight. • Protesters are shot dead in the streets. • Impunity reigns supreme without consequence. • The people grow poorer while politicians grow richer. Democracy in Nigeria is not merely "flawed" — it is intrinsically broken. It has simply modernized tyranny, replacing a single dictator with a cartel of politicians who weaponize state institutions to enrich themselves, kill dissent, and evade the absolute accountability that their titles demand. RIP to our fallen heroes. May their sacrifice birth a nation we can truly be proud of. Aluta Continua. Victoria Ascerta.
20-10-20. Who gave the order?!

Thinking about the systemic rot within Nigeria and the effort it would take to fix it makes me weary Saving Nigeria will be at least 3x harder than the Chinese revolution. At least they had a civilizational memory stretching back 5000 years and homogeneous population. They didn't have an identity crises to go with their societal and economic problems. Nigeria has all three. Any leader who manages to forge a national identity from this clown show we have going on at the moment will go down in history and the shrewdest leader in history.

White people are literally using our own leaders to kill us off everyday and some performance artists on my blocklist are busy speaking English, psychologically disarming their own people for peanuts. We all know exactly what we are doing.

David Hundeyin: Somalia Is A Sabotaged African State, Not A Failed State The Spearhead’s founder, David Hundeyin (@davidhundeyin), argues that no failed states exist in Africa because any that appear to have failed were actually destroyed by the West. What gives you the resilience to keep going when outsiders try to sabotage Africa? Drop us a comment. Video credit: btuspodcast876 (YouTube)

"Why are you doing nothing while a US puppet that has just given $700bn of our critical minerals to the US steals another election?" he says, tagging US government extensions NED (NDI) and YIAGA😆 It's still 4.30am for you people but I swear your day will break eventually ⛓️‍💥 Good morning in advance!
Am I overthinking this? Because I am genuinely struggling to understand what is happening in Nigeria. @inecnigeria has disregarded the Electoral Act by failing to publish the voters’ register online for public scrutiny, even after the statutory 90-day deadline has passed. Even under Mahmood Yakubu, the register was published online, with a mechanism for complaints and objections. Today, NOTHING! And somehow, the country has moved on like nothing happened. WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? Apart from @ARISEtv and @fijnigeria, where is the Nigerian media? Where are @YIAGA, @EUinNigeria @EU_SDGN , @NDI and the other civil society organisations? @NigeriaNDCHQ .@ADCNig ARE YOU PEOPLE SLEEPING? Are you actually preparing for this election? This is the voters’ register we are talking about. THE VERY FOUNDATION OF AN ELECTION! INEC has effectively said, “To hell with public scrutiny. Do your worst.” And our collective response is SILENCE. I am genuinely pained. We complain about electoral malpractice and compromised institutions, yet when it is time to demand accountability BEFORE an election, everybody suddenly goes quiet. Must we wait until votes are cast and results are disputed before we start shouting? Seriously, am I the only one who finds this silence deeply disturbing?

I love Nigeria so much, man. I can’t help it. Our ethnic differences, languages, cultures, everything that makes us different only makes me love this country more. Call it psychotic. I’m fine with that.

Power fears an informed population more than an angry one. Anger can be manipulated; consciousness is much harder to control.

Nkrumah wrote a whole book warning Africa about neocolonialism and how foreign powers shape our minds through media and culture. Now his story is being presented to the world under the banner of a former US president. Did we learn anything from him at all?

The ghosts of the Civil War still haunt Nigeria. Until there is proper justice and reconciliation, the SE will continue to resent the rest of Nigeria. It's unfashionable to say these days, but the first step to signal to the Igbo ethnic group that this is indeed one Nigeria is for an Igbo man becomes president. The South East should also stop being treated as an occupied zone. Buhari certainly didn't help matters with the collateral damage of fighting ESN and Kanu's terrorists.
Brigadier General Dikko A.M., Commander of the Ohafia Division, expressed disappointment that Abia State produced only about 100 recruits during the last Nigerian Army recruitment exercise. Before you say his son should join, know that his son is serving in Anambra State. But what is alarming is the pressure being put on Igbo youths to join the Nigerian Army. Why the desperation to recruit more Igbo youths?

For those whose brows may be furrowed that an Igbo man is saying this, I'm not actually Igbo. I'm from a minority tribe in Delta state (Ika) which is historically a blend of Igbo and Edo culture, but which has existed distinctively for centuries. My grand uncles even fought in the Civil War on the Nigerian side. I have no problems being called an Igbo man however. They're my brothers and sisters after all

🇺🇸 On US Elections and the Absurdity of "Pausing" of Ending US Wars Because of Them It is incredible at this point it needs to be explained that US elections are meaningless esp. regarding foreign policy which hasn't and will not change before or after. The idea a US war set up under Democratic presidents and a Democratic-controlled Congress and now fought under a Republican administration will somehow "pause" for midterms is so absurd, I can't even fathom the thought process taking place by those proposing this. In fact, the Iran war technically started under the Biden administration when US-backed Israeli strikes were carried out against Iranian diplomatic missions in Syria, then on Iran itself - followed by the US-overthrow of Syria with direct war on Iran following only shortly after. All of this has continued, uninterrupted after Trump took office (as does war on Russia and preparations for war with China), and will continue no matter which of Wall Street's representatives take office this year. It was this exact flawed thinking that led millions of Americans and many commentators to enthusiastically anticipate the Trump administration ending multiple US wars, proxy wars and worldwide interference that has only - very predictably - expanded instead. Understanding a problem is paramount to solving it. If one thinks US policy is determined by electoral outcomes instead of by unelected corporate interests, focus will be placed on influencing otherwise meaningless elections only ensuring the problem persists. This is by design to prevent corporate interests from being the focal point of public attention instead of endless election cycles and an endless supply of disposable politicians. Western-style "democracy" is a system of control, not one of self-determination. While electoral cycles are designed to move us emotionally - empirically they are an exercise in manipulating, not empowering us.
