At the funeral of 20-year-old IDF Sgt. Yuval Shai Svilem, killed in the Hebron shooting attack, his father issued an ultimatum to Israel’s government:
Deport the terrorists’ families by the end of the shiva.
“If the state doesn’t do its job, we will take the law into our own hands.”
“They took our son. They will not celebrate at our expense.”
Svilem argued that deportation would create real deterrence: families would stop would-be terrorists before they ever carried out an attack.
“I gave the state my diamond. Now I want the state to act.”
