“Sunday’s season finale at Homestead would need to average approximately 3.24 million viewers for this year’s postseason to match last year’s. That would also require the highest-viewed NASCAR Cup Series season finale since 2019.”

Viewership woes continue:
Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race from Martinsville averaged 1.987 million viewers on NBC — down a stark 15% from last year (2.350 million) and the least-watched non-delayed NASCAR Cup Series race ever to air on broadcast TV.

Jon & everyone at SMW are the class of this industry. Congrats on 20 years! Guess I'm only a year older than SMW itself!
Seriously, Jon Lewis is incredible. He reached out to me during my freshman year of college to write a few articles for his site. I'll always appreciate that.

Anytime I see Rick Allen, I’m reminded of how much I miss him. I’ve always been of the mind that most of the hate he received from the fanbase was greatly unwarranted. He was a good voice for the sport.
Now we see him as the voice of Pac-12 football on The CW…feels so wrong.
Jamie Little is back on the call for the Truck Series at Martinsville. She and Michael Waltrip will call practice and qualifying before being joined by Brad Keselowski for Friday’s race broadcast at 6:00 p.m. ET on FS1.

Great seeing Larry McReynolds, Mike Joy & Darrell Waltrip together!
Increases across the board for NASCAR last weekend:
Cup Series — 2.581 million (+1% YoY)
O’Reilly Series — 1.021 million (+4% YoY)
Truck Series — 485,000 (aired on Fox last year, but +41% from 2024)
Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega drew 2.581 million viewers on NBC — up 1% from last year (2.556M).
It is worth noting Sunday’s race was still -17% from 2024 (3.127). It’s also the first YoY increase for Cup since Gateway (+7 YoY).
Hopefully some positive momentum.
Still cannot believe this is an actual quote. I wish these CEOs would just be honest for once and admit the truth: F1 took the deal for the money and 100% knew it would cost them viewership.
A very similar situation to NASCAR!
