Itβs a really sad day. After 38 years of commercial and public sector local broadcasting today is the last show. When I first started there was a jingle that went βitβs great to have a radio station as a friendβ . So many friends now who I will really miss. Howie x

Sorry BBC Management but your split news isn't working. DEVON'S news aired on BBC Cornwall at 6pm last night. That's as bad as shouting 'I love Southampton' in Portsmouth High St. Alison Johns is a superb reader. It's NOT her fault. WE know who to blame ! bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0ggpyβ¦

Feedback returns to @BBCRadio4 next week! Since we've been gone, changes have come into effect across BBC Local Radio scheduling in England.
But what have listeners been saying, now that the new schedules are in place?

@NUJBBCRegions @RadioWatcher Another excellent presenter unnecessarily forced to quit due to sheer incompetence from BBC executives. @bbchw and @BBCShropshire are two of the best examples of true local radio as they cover all areas, whether remote villages or big towns. Dark days

Iβve shed a few tears this week because my time as a permanent fixture @RadioHumberside Breakfast ends today. A very sad day. After 20years presenting Sunday Breakfast @BBCNorthampton @heathm50 is having to hang up his headphones. Taking lots of calls from upset listeners. Just about holding it together #bbccuts

Message for the BBC Director General βLocal radio is the beating heart of the BBC. Itβs actually being decimated by these cuts. So we need you Tim Davie to stop what you are doing turn this process backwards. Bring the presenters back & actually give the listeners what they wantβ

Today we walk out again over proposed cuts to BBC Local Radio. Mgmt say they want more digital content, @NUJofficial says that doesn't have to mean cutting local output. #keepbbclocalradiolocal

Apologies for the different programming on @BBCRadioSolent today.
@NUJBBCRegions members and supportive staff have just walked out over plans to change local output.
The BBC says itβs moving resources to online provision as this is where the audience is at.
